“The guides and the people were so welcoming!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

I was very excited to see the townships and a different point of view. My friends were apprehensive about the tour and weren't sure if people in the community would welcome visitors. Everyone had an AMAZING tour! The school and Ella's home were my favorites. It was nice to see the new hospital that is being built and hear about health care. People were friendly when we stopped at local businesses. Ella and Penny pump most of the money back into the community and kids they are taking into their homes. It was a very enlightening tour. Each tour is different depending on time of day and what's going on in the community.

It would be great to bring snacks/groceries/school supplies as gifts...although nobody was asking for charitable contributions. You could also bring dog food, penny must have stopped to feed at least 3 community dogs along the way.

Highly recommend!!

“SO GLAD we did this!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Thank you to Ella and Penny who took us on a tour that is necessary and life changing. To get a real understanding of Kysna and townships in general, this is a must-do tour. Ella and Penny are so passionate about the township and devote their lives to making their world a better place. We felt so welcomed into Ella's home and talking to the locals, we were sad to have to leave at the end of the day.

The kids that they care for are adorable and inspiring. I had an amazing tour of Africa over three weeks time but this was absolutely a highlight and something I will never forget.

Tip: Bring a few bags of groceries and help these people make a difference to kids in need. They will truly appreciate it.

“Township Tour”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Having had doubts about doing a township tour, we found it was a very enlighting experience. Penny and Ella were wonderful hosts and clearly devoted to bettering the lives of young children in the township. Our visit to Ella's house and meeting many young people was a fantastic experience. We took away positive memories of what is being achieved, from the
new hospital to be opened shortly, the library, the new dwellings and the friendliness of the community.

“Unique experience”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

we were so glad that we found Emzini tours. Initially we were going to do a tour later in our trip in Cape town, thankfully we decided otherwise. we met Lynn, our driver and Penny too and then finally the happiest ,bubbliest positive lady we met on our trip in South Africa. Ella. She is an inspiration to young and old and we hold our hat off to her for her success not just in setting up Emzini tours but also to turn a difficult life in to a great one. Ella was very open and honest answering questions on any subject regarding life in post apartheid South Africa but also the Aids problem and the charities they have stet up.She also gave an honest view of living in a township. we were fortuante to visit a school on our visit and had a cup of tea at ella's house. it was very worthwhile tour and we would love to do it again sometime . excellent
