Thank you very much for your good review. We are pleased you found the staff friendly and enjoyed the breakfasts, the ocean view, the spacious rooms and the free WiFi. With regard to the keys, we only have two on the bunch as a rule, one for the front door and one for the guest's room, but have recently added one small yale key for the gate to the bunch, along with the remote, as we have started to experience power outages due to load shedding by the electricity provider in South Africa. We have done this so that our guests are able to gain easy access to the house in the event of a power outage. Once the load shedding is over, we will be able to remove the additional key.

We are disappointed that your review is not entirely factual. We acknowledge that we experienced a plumbing problem in the Fynbos room on the day of your arrival and that the plumber was called to fix it. We also acknowledge that the problem resurfaced a few days later, which again required us to call on the plumber. However, at that time you were offered a free upgrade into our Executive Suite, not a room, which has a larger bedroom, bathroom and dressing room ensuite, with a private lounge and private courtyard with Jacuzzi. This suite faces our main pool courtyard, with double doors leading from the private lounge onto that courtyard and double doors leading from the first floor bedroom onto a balcony with a partial sea view and mountain views.Only the back of the suite faces the carpark and road. The daily rate for the suite is R 3 390, while the rate for the Fynbos room is R 2 190. We believed it was a generous offer and when you declined it, you omit to say in your review that we offered to relocate you to another guest house at no cost, but you declined this offer too and elected to stay in the Fynbos room for the full 7 day stay. We are of course sorry and apologise that we experienced plumbing problems during your stay, but believe we did everything possible to remedy the situation and offer you a solution. We are pleased to report that an imported part for the shower trap was procured and the problem is now completely fixed.
We must also deny the statement you make in your review that the slab on which the basins are mounted is not waterproofed.It is a concrete slab and it has been waterproofed. Also, the statement about the chairs on the balcony leading out from the Fynbos room, being rotten, is not factual, as the chairs are made of wrought iron and cannot rot. The powdercoated finish is called dark rust and intended to look old, to match the provencale design and decor of the house. Furthermore, the chairs on the sea side patio, outside the main lounge are made of the highest quality Indonesian kiln dried teak, and can also not rot, but the wood is intended to weather outdoors to match the decor of the house. Teak is one of the most expensive woods available and the most appropriate for outdoor use. Neither of these last two complaints were brought to the manager's attention during your 7 day stay or she would have explained the finishes to you. We are thankful for your compliments to the manager about the quality of the breakfasts during the 7 day stay. Finally, I personally sent you an email on 18 February, the day of your departure, to apologise for the plumbing problem and to confirm that you had declined both the free upgrade and the relocation, but to date have had no response to that mail. I feel we could not have done more than we did to resolve the problem.
