A lovely climb along stone and dirt foot paths to the top where Mr & Mrs Hoy's graves are. Read up on the story of them . Hermanus would not have been Hermanus without Mr Hoy's foresight. Take some wine with and watch the sun set.

The walk up to Hoys Koppie is well marked though not suitable for the disabled (lots of steps) but once you get to the top you have the most wonderful birds eye view of the town and the beautiful coastline, well worth the effort, don,t forget you camera and binoculars we even saw whales in the bay from the top

Hoy's Koppie is a small little "mountain" in the middle of town. A lovely walk up to the top with beautiful views all around. Unfortunately the copper plaques on the Hoy's graves had been stolen when I last went up there. An easy walk on paths and steps and a wooden walkway.
On the way up you will find a cave which was used by the Khoisan people many, many years ago. One can still find hundreds of shells up there.

We followed the short but well built trail up, around, and over this koppie. It gave us great views, not only over the town, but down the nearby coast as well. Definitely worth the 10min walk to get to the top. There was a female security guard on 'duty' at the base of the koppie, however it is close enough to houses and town to be safe. I would feel quite comfortable going for a run/walk here on my own.

Hoy's koppie are well maintained 7 it is always a pleasure to take a walk up there. There is the steps on the cemetery side and then the wooden platform & steps from Old Station complex. There is also a hollow at the bottom with KhoiSan drawings that is thousands of years old.
