Hoy's koppie are well maintained 7 it is always a pleasure to take a walk up there. There is the steps on the cemetery side and then the wooden platform & steps from Old Station complex. There is also a hollow at the bottom with KhoiSan drawings that is thousands of years old.

Lovely walk, easy enough for children and we all wore flip-flops/sandals (thongs)... Stunning views of Hermanus town and Walker Bay. Great photo opportunity too. A definite must. Costs nothing!

Great way to spend an hour in town--walk to the top, see the town from above! Walk quietly as you go. You may be able to spot the hyrax, a small creature that lives in the rocks. You know they are the closest relatives to elephants? :)

Hoy's Koppie has always been a Hermanus landmark. It has a distinct path to the top which circumvents the hill. 72 steps lead up to the final ascent. They are relatively steep with no handrails so not ideal for unfit grandparents. There is also a cave set into the hillside overlooking the town. At the top are two graves. The view is 360 degrees and on a still day a good place for a cup of tea and to look down on the latest commercial developments

It gets you nice and fit! A lovely view of Hermanus and one can see where Sir William Hoy and his wife were buried.
