My wife and I visited Tapas Food and Wine Bar a year ago where she had a really good Paella comparable, and better, than that one would expect from a first class Spanish restaurant. This time her Paella was a bowl of yellow-coloured rice topped with pieces of chicken, with one or two lost prawns for a topping, and for a price. It was the most expensive item on the menu! What a disappointment since she had been looking forwards to repeating her previous culinary experience. We did not find that this place had maintained their previous standard, and as for their snacks and niknacks, they were simply overpriced. Thus, as far as we were concerned, it was good-bye Tapas, Hermanus.

The quality of the food and service here is surprisingly good. It looks like it might live of it's location on the main drag, but we thought that the food that came out was really tasty, fresh and straightforward. It's a mix of tapas and American (Nachos etc.,) and it means that if you're with someone who might be fancying something very different to you you can both eat what you want. We saw the nachos, which looked sufficient to feed a small herd of elephants, we had the antipasti board which was good food and good value. We also stopped off here for a drink and snack a couple of times while we were here, never disappointed by service, drink or food.

A nice atmosphere and appealing menu. We tried a selection of dishes, the highlight being an Aubergine tapas, which was a main meal in itself. The chicken was ok but more like a KFC presentation than tapas, and the Peri Peri sauce, was a thick tomato sauce served hot with a little bit of spicey heat, not what we expected for a Peri Peri. We also had to send the fries back as they were soggy. On the positive as well as the Aubergine, the mussels were excellent. The prawns were also nice but overpowered by the thick tomato sauce, which was our fault to a degree as we asked for the Peri Peri, not realising what that meant in this restaurant
Nice to see a half bottle of bubbles available on the wine list .

The waiter was very helpfull and understanding as we requested to sit outside with our Pikanese. we naturally did not want to sit inside, but this was no problem as he could just said No. We had a relaxing afternoon and enjoyed the sunset with good wine and very nice Pasta.
Thank you Tapas for allowing us to have Supper with our pet.

This place Rocks! Service was the best part, the Guy that helped us really understood what being a waiter is means! For this reason alone I recommend it allready. The menu is not as big as you normaly see at a tapas bar, but all the food tasted good! Prices are normal and they have a Nice outside area.
