“Friendly staff, good food and excellent views”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We've been here a few times (the first time we were there we saw a mother whale and baby about 50 metres away from us - amazing) - and every time the food has been good. This time I went with my Amstaff puppy and we were wonderfully welcomed even though he's still a bit boisterous and noisy. I don't eat seafood but the burger was great and the view of the sea unbeatable.
Enjoyable experience.

“So disappointing”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Service by Princess was great, food was basic to totally bland and not shy with the prices, we went there on a recommendation and were hugely disappointed.

“Fish pate”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Their hamburgers and fish pate are particularly nice. It is pleasant to sit so close to the sea and have a beer and a nice meal.

“Not to be missed!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

What an amazing location! Have spent 2 days sitting at the cave drinking fantastic white wine (Creation 2011 - so good we went to the vineyard to buy a case!) we experienced blue skies, glorious sun shine and extremely friendly service. How can gazing out to sea watching whales breach whilst drinking wine with your loved one be topped as an experience?! I would give the experience and atmosphere a definite 5 but the food is distinctly mediocre hence the 4 overall rating.

“Fantastic food with a fabulous view!”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

My husband and I went to Hermanus to do some whale watching during our South African trip and Bientang's was the recommended place to be by our SA friends.

We were not disappointed at all! We were greeted and shown to our terrace table by the friendly staff. We ordered oysters and prawns and some wine for lunch. Everything was so fresh and yummy, we had to have seconds! Spent a good two hours there just soaking up the sunshine and took some great photos of the whales in the bay.

We would really recommend this place for anyone going to or passing through Hermanus. It really is a great place, great value for money and really friendly service. I told my husband during our meal that I would love to come back every year if we could, that's how much I loved it!
