When travelling in South Africa you can find yoursef stuck between glitzy characterless expensive hotels and family homes in which you feel a bit uneasily like distant relatives who don't quite know their way around the rooms! Hurrah for Malvern Manor which offers privacy and luxury as well as home comforts and lively conversations. Our room was clean and spacious, the breakfasts fabulous and the garden views quite spectacular. Sandra and Michael obviously care very much about the standard of hospitality they offer and are determined to do the job well ....but there is also a genuine enjoyment of meeting people and helping them get the best out of their visit to this lovely part of the Garden Route! Thoroughly recommended!

Had 4 excellent nights here while touring SA. Extremely personable service from Michael and Sandra who could not do enough for us, helping to fix trips, book golf tee times and reserve restaurants etc.
The Manor is in lovely peaceful rural setting close to Fancourt and George golf courses. It is a very comfortable homely place where you are treated more like house guests rather than patrons. Great breakfasts! Well worth a visit.

The breakfasts were great! The room seemed a bit small for 2 adults and a teenager. Unfortunately there was not really a place we could sit outside to appreciate the view and therefor we found the pictures and info on the website a bit misleading. (Looks like you can expect a view from your room on the dams and mountains). The boys played golf at Oubaai and it was fantastic!

Thank you for the time taken for this review, it is always appreciated. I must however comment that there is a courtyard with garden table and 4 chairs connected to this room, as with all rooms, plus there are beds and benches in the garden with views to the mountains. Admittedly you cannot see the mountains when the cloud is down. The captions on the photos clearly state the the dam and mountains is the location of Malvern Manor, on a farm, and is the view of the guest house and farm. I appreciate any room or house can be a bit cramped with a teenager, however most guests comment on how large this room is, 8m x 5m but we all have our own opinions, which is what Trip Advisor is all about. Once again thank you for your review, we enjoyed having you stay with us. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year, and we hope to welcome you back to Malvern Manor for more golf.

I have stayed at Malvern Manor on 4 separate occasions over the past 2 years and can honestly say that I will not stay anywhere else when in George. The wonderful hosts, Sandra and Michael, are warm, welcoming and friendly. They truly go out of their way to make their guest's stay as comfortable as possible! Breakfasts are out of this world! I am a seasoned traveller (due to the nature of my job), and I have yet to find a place whose breakfast's measure up to that of Malvern Manor. The location of the guesthouse is the best part - nestled at the bottom of mountains with stunning views of the lush surroundings.

I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone wanting a comfortable 'home away from home' stay in George, who you are spoilt rotten with the surroundings, breakfasts and the warmth of the hosts.

With the snow on the mountains, the green hills and lovely white house with 2 border collies watching over me,it was like something from a movie. And then if you add Michael and Sandra's personal touch, the good food and finesse, it becomes an Oscar winning movie. Personally the flowers in the room(exspecially the Jasmine) and the hospitality of 2 such wonderful people will make me go back again and again. I think I will call this movie my own version of " The Sound of Music". Tessa / Capetown

We stayed here for 2 days during a 3-week holiday around South Africa. Sandra and Michael made us feel very welcome. Our room was beautiful with cute touches of fresh flowers. As well as our room we had the use of the guest lounge with comfy sofas and a big TV (that's if you have time to watch TV!). The house itself has well-maintained grounds and stunning views of the mountains from the gardens. Their breakfasts are delicious with home-made bread, fresh fruit, and cooked-to-order full breakfasts!

George itself is an industrial town and there isn't a lot for tourists to do but Michael was great at recommending places to visit only a short drive away and we had some of our most exciting experiences while staying here. They are also good at recommending local restaurants to dine at.
