Stayed in room 11. I travel extensively staying in hotels, guest houses, etc. I also like my hiking so I am used to sleeping amongst bugs and roughing it up, my wife doesnt although she is not the difficult type. This could be one of the gems in the Garden Route but it needs better and professional management and some money to upgrade the place a little. Welcome was a friendly hello and walk to the room. Room wasn't anything to write home about and one could easily tell it wasn't cleaned properly. Bathroom needs a thorough cleaning especially shower inside and outside. Give your cleaning staff cloths, brushes, vacuum cleaner, etc to scrub the place from one end to the other as if the Queen will be staying there next week but u don't know in which room. Bedding needs to be replaced after night one. Ours wasnt. Only 4 tv channels in room which is not on in a modern society. Surrounds are beautiful and country feeling but why on earth will u mow the lawn at manager's house at 9am on a Sunday morning when most guests I am sure would like to relax and soak in some more of the weekend without listening to that horrible sound which "cut" through the whole resort? Cant u do it some other time when most guests have left? Food off menu was really excellent and the best thing abt this place. Chef needs help as queue builds up at breakfast time. Another person there will help a lot. Staff are trying their best and are friendly except the "chinaman" at reception. They can all do with some training especially that chinaman. We enjoyed our stay and had a nice time "generally". It is a country hotel but rooms and bathroom can be cleaner and smell nice and fresh. Also decide whether u want this to be a kids party venue or relaxing break-away for your visitors. On the Sat we were there you hosted a kiddies party which ruined the relaxing atmosphere. We came as a couple to come relax and get away from kids but then had to put up with other peoples' kids creating chaos and noise. As I said, better management and some upgrading can make this a compulsory stop for many. Get yourself a business-turn-around expert to help u correct what needs to be changed. You'll make a fortune out of this little potential gem once u get it right. Good luck!
