Nice golf course but a bit tricky if you stray too far away from the fairways. The course itself is beautiful with nice ocean views. If you are lucky you'll see Ernie swinging away.

Wonderful Ernie Els design with great ocean views and fairly slick greens. Fantastic closing holes especially par 3 17th with a greT clubhouse and good food at the halfway for even the family, especially the pizzas

Must use a buggy as hilly - lovely piece of countryside - saw lots of wild life. As a single player I was put with two German golfers who were very good company, Was quiet so no hold ups - half way house food good - all in all a lovely day

From the 'meet and greet' when you arrive until you leave the gates, the Oubaai experience for visiting golfers is most enjoyable. The course is well laid out and presents some exciting challenges for the better golfers while also including some well positioned bail-out areas for the average golfer.
The course felt quite long, many of the par-fours are very difficult to reach in regulation if you're not a long hitter. There is one short hole (stroke 3) which, in my opinion anyway, is not a good hole for what is a resort course. The course and surrounds would benefit by the addition of some decent sized indigenous trees and management might consider some 'off-season' offers, the R500 per person we paid (January 2014) is a little steep for traveling South Africans.
Oubaai is well worth a visit and we'll certainly include it in our next tour as well.
My handicap: 15

Make sure you have you bookings etc in order so you can support the pro shop check in procedure and if you are thinking of having something to eat in the clubhouse befoe your game you must have minimum an hour and half - we tried 1 hour and did not get our club house sandwich in time for our tee off.
