“Pure Opulence”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

From the moment you drive your car into the estate you are treated extremely well. Porters transport your baggage, park your vehicle and even store your golf clubs. The rooms are large and modern, bathrooms are unique and modern. The "smaller things" like complimentary toiletries, sewing kits, shoe polishing cloths are all good quality. Relaxation is guaranteed and facilities are ample. There are lots of options for parents as there is a "baby sitting" facility where the children are well looked after and entertained. Be sure to book an appointment at the salon in advance, they were fully booked and our visit was during a very quiet week in November. Breakfast is well presented in the form of a buffet and the staff are very willing to help when needed. We will definitely be back!

We spent 2 nights at the Oubaai resort and absolutely loved it. The staff are very friendly and made every effort to call us by our names.

The breakfast and spa was a treat. The round of golf was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely consider going back.

This hotel is a real treat and relaxation is practically guaranteed. The staff are so friendly. The food is superb and the location is great for travelling along the Garden Route. The bedrooms are exceptionally well appointed.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the Indian Ocean have magical views

We specifically requested a quiet room. Upon check in the receptionist noted this and said that we had been allocated a quiet room. Each morning at dawn, staff would yell to each other on the street below and wake us up. Very annoying.
One evening we had an excellent meal with wine pairing from Zevenwacht Wine Estate, it was great value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Breakfast however is poor, very little fresh fruit selection, service slow, waitresses who clean the tables and whatever is on them, straight onto the chairs on carpet, all in all an unpleasant experience and start to the day.
No managers in sight and it's lack of management that let's this hotel down.

Room Tip: Don't get a room anywhere near the driveways, unless you are a very early riser

Stayed here on our road trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. Exceptional rooms and luxury feel but could have been anywhere in the world though. Great place to recharge batteries. Great choice of food at of course South African wines.

The hotel was stunning. Our room was so luxurious and the bathroom was different to other hotel bathrooms I have stayed in. The staff were helpful and friendly. We booked a massage and facial at the spa which was such a great spoil. The dinner and breakfast was delicious. The view from our room was awesome. I hope that we will be back again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: The deluxe king suite is awesome
