Description: The Conservatory, situated adjacent to the historic Cellars-Hohenort cellar, offers diners unparalleled garden vistas from both the sun-drenched terrace and the indoor tables. Carefully constructed around a giant 300-year-old oak tree, The Conservatory is one of Constantia's finest daily breakfast, lunch and dinner venues. Here the head chef creates hotel classics alongside modern and seasonally influenced dishes. The Conservatory menu places a great emphasis on fresh produce from both The Cellars-Hohenort gardens and local green-friendly suppliers, and this gives it the unique ability to showcase a true taste of the Constantia Valley. Friendly service and an award-winning wine list ensure that The Conservatory offers guests and locals an exceptional everyday dining experience.

This place should impress even most demanding customers.it stands out among so many Restaurants in Western Cape.
The garden grounds are stunning, it has elegant indoors and faultless service.
The meal was memorable, my particular favourite was the dessert, even though I am almost never tempted to have one. When compared with other restaurants in Constantia the cost was moderate.
I will happily return there and also convinced friends to go.

While touring around the Cape Town region, my guide suggested The Conservatory at the Cellars-Hohenort in Constantia. This property is one of the famous Relais & Chateaux establishments. And it lived up to expectations in every way.

The hotel is located on elegantly landscaped grounds under the shadow of Table Mountain in a setting that is filled with the Dutch Colonial atmosphere of early South Africa. The Conservatory offers a combination of indoor and outdoor dining. The menu selections were so tempting that it was initially difficult to choose. I had a salmon and caviar appetizer in which each mouthful simply melted in pure pleasure. My main course of a beautifully baked chicken served with a variety of delectable vegetables and potatoes was once again delectable. And then came dessert with a South African flair - a Malva pudding that had hints of Christmas spices.

If anyone who reads this is touring around Cape Town and wants to have a memorable lunch in a spectacular and refreshing setting, I can think of no place better than The Conservatory at the Cellars-Hohenort Hotel.

The Conservatory was a perfect finish of our trip to South-Africa. High class staff, excellent food and a very nice decor. Compared to South-African standards, this restaurant was somewhat more expensive. But price/quality still a lot higher than what we are used to pay in Europe...

We have made it a pilgrimage to spend our last night in South Africa at the Constantia Uitsig restaurant. This closed at the end of November and the young man in their tasting room recommended this restaurant to us. We were not disappointed. From the moment we entered we were greeted by smart, professional staff. The menu and wine list offered a great choice. The food was full of flavour and prepared with great attention to detail. Not somewhere to dine every night - keep it for a special occasion - but great food, great atmosphere and great staff.

I was treated to a birthday lunch at the Conservatory by a friend - what a lovely meal. The food is tasty, beautifully prepared and presented, and service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is lovely - open, airy and tranquil - and the views onto the mountain are simply gorgeous. Definitely worth visiting and definitely worth at least a few return visits.
