Description: Jonkershuis Constantia is nestled in the historic core of the Groot Constantia Wine Estate next to the historic Manor House and surrounded by ancient oak trees. Your first impression is dominated by sweeping views across the oldest wine producing vineyards in South Africa, down the valley to the enveloping coastline of False Bay. This family owned and managed bistro boasts a diversity of locations from private dining grandeur, to intimate interior fire side dining, to typical Italian village gatherings in their vine covered courtyard to family style lunches on their front lawns, were children can safely play reminiscent of a bygone era.. Partner Chris Coetzee, a father of two energetic young sons says, "Our close proximity and strong association with Iziko Museums is very important to me, it is a privilege for my children to be raised surrounded by so much of their heritage." The rich cultural history of Jonkershuis lends a magical and old world charm to any occasion held at the beautiful Jonkershuis. Tammy Botbyl (partner), "The strong legacy of history and tradition has inspired many couples to share their vows here and celebrate their union in style. It is a privilege for us to be part of the beginning of so many new legacies."

“nice and casual - good value”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

Lunch under the umbrellas at Jonkershuis this December was a refreshing change - good value for money and a family friendly menu (and the option of a platter with some South African specialities for tourists).
Excellent service from friendly waitrons and a lovely spot to take kids and know that they are safe.

“Good food”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We all had the Cape Malay tasting platter. It was a lot of food, and was really tasty.
A beautiful and big vineyard!

“The venue makes the meal”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

The food was not all that spectacular and the service a bit slow but we did not really mind as the setting asks to be taken in slowly. Lots of open lawn under the trees for kids to play. Take some time after the meal and enjoy a stroll around the gardens

“Breakfast in the most stunning setting”
Reviewed January 3, 2014 via mobile

Breakfast views don't get much better than this! Outside table in the sunshine, beautiful buildings with French toast and berries and husband's favourite Eggs Benedict. A wonderful way to start the day.

“Good quality food, quiet ambiance”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

We were there on the 30th December and it was great. Lots of people at the outside tables with their kids playing on the lawn. We opted to sit inside, lovely Cape Dutch architecture. My husband had the Cape Malay Bobotie and I had a chicken burger, I tasted the Bobotie as well though. Bobotie was really good, burger was average. Staff were professional and friendly.
