The Cape Town fish market in Steenberg village is spacious with the main seating area as you enter and some additional upstairs seating. Very welcoming and although we had no booking the manager found us a small table. An extensive menu and wine list with a sushi bar and nice decor.

We had platters - prawns and calamari served with chips - and found the food to be very mainstream family type fare. Served nice and hot.

A good family style eatery rather than a romantic dinner date venue but worth a visit. This is one of many in the chain all over the country.

There are many of these in South Africa, they're all pretty good. It's not really haut cuisine but definitely a class above the average fish'n'chips—even thought they offer that as well. More choice than the ubiquitous hake and reasonable prices.

Classic chain restaurant with average food. Good location for travellers and turist. As I said, an honest meal, nothing to remember.

Great hake, good wine, but avoid the mussels as they were tasteless and over cooked.
Service is fast and friendly.

This is a simple eatery specialising in fish. Often not even bad. For people from Europe very affordable. However it is a chain with standardised items. Kingklip can be good but of course was frozen and the sides sliced through. Try to avoid the 'lemon butter' and get some butter and a lemon instead.
But service is fast and friendly and it is value for money. Steenberg Village is still more quiet than the centre and I find that an advantage. Sorry guys but the 5-point scale goes from average to very good. I would have credited you with good on a scale but the scale is not correct.
