Description: Saigon in Cape Town has become one of the hot spots. With magnificent views of Table Mountain and their soft, muted lights, Saigon has acquired the perfect ambience. The Vietnamese decor is done elegantly without giving the restaurant a themed feeling. The menu is mainly Vietnamese with Japanese influences. Starters to try includes the Grilled Chicken Skewer and do-it-yourself Lettuce Wraps accompanied with prawns, fresh herbs, noodles and sweet chilli sauce. Some of the more popular Main Courses are the Chicken Cashew Nuts, their Spicy Beef Basil with chilli sauce and the Saigon Ginger Fish covered in a batter. All the Main Courses can be served with rice or noodles. Saigon's exotic Deep-Fried Ice Cream is a must if you have space after your lavish First and Main Courses. The ice cream is deep-fried with a batter casting and then served with their honey syrup. Holding its own between the many restaurants in Kloof Street, this is one of those restaurants were one should book in advance as it is always busy no matter what day of the week it is.

First time back in quite a while to one of our favourites. Nothing has changed - great food and good service.

Tasty, exciting, beautifully presented - a meal we will remember, indeed will come back for. The prawns were perfect blended with ginger & chilli.

As this place was voted best asian restaurant for 2012 by EatOut magazine, we gave it try.
Nice decorated and roomy place, but a little dark.
Food is very good, especially duck and beef. Also the cristal sringroll and dim sum. Pitty that they serve no Pho.....

We had the best combination of Thai and Chinese food ever with the option to try some Japanese food as well. We did not go for the Japanese option, but the others were deliciously scrumptious at a reasonable price. We left feeling well fed without the uncomfortable feeling afterwards.

This restaruant always gets it right - I have eaten here on many occasions over a period of 10 years, and have to say that it has always been of total excellence - this includes service, ambience, decor, comfortability, presence and of course the always amazing food. The menu offers a delicious assortment of dishes, with lots of interesting choices for vegetarians. My personal favourites are the dumplings and the Pho Bo Vietnamese beef and noodle soup. All the food at Saigon is clean as well as tasty, and one does not leave with a bloated "MSG" feeling. I highly recommend booking, as Saigon is always full when I am there!
