“Kurdish cuisine at its best!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

This is an old favorite and in over 10 years, Barran's restaurant and its staff have never disappointed. Mesopotamia's middle eastern ambience is the perfect place to entertain friends.
Tips: # Book ahead of time
# Dance with the belly dancers
# Smoke a Shisa pipe
# Come with an appetite. The wide variety of mezzes is bound to fill you up before you start your mains!

“Good food and good belldancing”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We had such fun experimenting with all the Kurdish cuisine, while the belly dancer entertained us, and got us to join in. The coffee was too strong, it is not for the faint hearted, I concluded to enjoy it you must have acquired the taste. Floor sitting is not my thing, so we opeted to use the tables and chairs by the entrance. The food was really good, we wanted to sample, so we ordered something that will take us through this food journey from A to Z. Do not over indulge on the drinks, as the steps on your way out might get you tumbling to the door.

“Fun”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I haven't been to this restaurant for a while, but the last experience was unforgettable. We had giggles, pink cheeks (from embarrassment), loud music, great music, good food and dancing! Seriously good fun and an opportunity to eat food that's not easily available on street or in local markets.

“Lots of fun!”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant in long street with a great atmosphere. Its one of the most entertaining and fun places to go have dinner. I suggest it for all events such as birthdays etc.
The food portions are very small though and quite average in taste.
But then again you don't really go to Mespotamia for the food - its for the experience!

“Delicious”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

This cozy Kurdish restaurant is located in the city centre, on the famous Long Street. The food is all of the style traditional to the ancient Mesopotamia region, and is absolutely delicious.

And, when the restaurant is full, they have belly dancers who eagerly perform their show and encourage you to try!

It's a vibrant and exciting restaurant, and I've taken foreign visitors there and they've had only good things to say.
