Situated in the heart of Cape Town, down a pedestrian walkway, is the entrance to this quaint Kurdish restaurant. Up a flight of wooden stairs you are greated by the wonderful smells of middle eastern foods and the sounds of Kurdish music. We were greated by the owner Baran, who offered us either a traditional brass table or to be seated on cushions in an authentic mediteranian style. The ambiance and the decorations seem genuine authentic middle eastern adding to the ambiance. Besides choices of many Kurdish starters and main courses, we rounded off our evening with a Kurdish coffee and a wonderful display of belly dancing. Sitting close to your neigbours in such a relaxed atmosphere allowed us to make new freinds and learn about other cultures. We were'nt banking on such a varied evening out, which made it more special.
