Party of 4, we weren't sure what to expect, except we were told they served family style specialties from around countries throughout Africa. Sounded intriguing, so we dove in. Promptly seated upstairs, its an eclectic decor, which had its own vibe about the place. We had our hands washed tableside, picked out a nice SA local pinotage, and they explained their is a ala carte menu, or just go for the bring whats cooking tonight. We went with whatever is on the stove, and what a delight, Morrocan tajine,Ethiopian Lamb stew, etc.. and you could pick out your favorite and they would bring more, simple and effective. We had a great time, as other reviewers have mentioned, they paint the gals up ever so gently, big smiles all around, a very nice touch. Would recommend.

We ate here with a group of 12 and all had a great time. You are served a lot of dishes so be sure and go hungry! If there is a dish you really like they will bring you more but with so much served we didn't do that. You start the evening with them bringing a large basin to you to have your hands washed. The food then starts coming and coming one dish after another. It was all very good some spicier than others. After dinner they entertain you with music, drums and dancing. I suppose this is considered touristy, but that's what we were so we rejoyed it a lot.

This was fantastic! When we arrived they asked if they could wash our hands in rose water, it smelled so good. Then they painted our faces in the African way. This was quite a thrill for my Grandson. They then proceeded to bring the food. There were 14 different dishes that were brought to the table. We only wished we had more room for more of it. What a great night. My only complaint was the stairs to get to the room we were seated in. There were a lot.

Really had fun at this restaurant. They have sampling menus of food from across Africa. They bring samples, and you can ask for extra of anything you like. Loved the way the restaurant was decorated. Also enjoyed the singing and drums. Great place for tourists, but didn’t feel like a tourist restaurant.

We had lunch and were given a wide variety of foods from across Southern Africa. Each small dish was interesting and tasty. For lunch there didn't seem to be many tourists, though I could see how this could be a touristy destination. This was one of our top eating experiences in Cape Town.
