“Very Pretty B&B”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

This review comes in very late... almost by a year... but its quite due.. as I find myself recommending this place to everyone.
Its a very neat and clean place, very safe for lone travelers like me. The hosts are quite friendly and helpful. I loved the fruit salad that was done every morning. I had booked sun room but there were so many glitches till I came to hotel that Yoann was kind to upgrade me to a pink room right next to breakfast area. I loved it. The place is neat, warm, pretty and best thing is free wifi! such a treat in SA where as a tourist I had problems with net and phone.
Definitely recommended.

It was good, and clean, although the room we had was not that big. The french owner was nice, friendly and helpful. The owner unfortunately wasn't able to be there, but we were checked in by another of the nice female member of staff. The location was ok in the very colourful Bo'kaap area. It's a few minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants on Long Street. It was also nice to be able to relax on the rooftop terrace at the end of the day with the view of Table Mountain. Simple breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals and eggs made to order and some nice muffins. Free Wi-Fi with reasonable speed.

Stayed 4 nights in April; Yoann was great - accommodating, friendly and very knowledgeable about where to go, what to do and where to eat. He is clearly proud of the achievement that is La Rose and is happy to tell you all about the local area and surrounding fun!! We met his whole family in our stay which added to the joyful feel of the place.
A Moroccan theme allows much light into the hotel, as well as great views from the top roof garden!! Such decor provides a wonderful atrium in which we all had breakfast together and I got a feeling of 'The Grand Tour' of British tourists years ago, as we all chatted about our exploits and excitements of our previous days and coming items on our itineraries!
The rooms are small, but functional, and the bed pleasingly comfortable and good showers. Very clean and tidy in all aspects and I cannot wait to return!! I'd love it to be my home from home... but sadly I will not be visiting Cape Town as often as I want!

Stayed four nights, thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful neighbourhood, the ambiance of the B&B, the congeniality and local knowledge of the staff and other guests, and the easy walking to downtown, Waterfront, to the City tourist buses which stopped only a few blocks away. highly recommended for those who enjoy staying away from the hotel atmosphere, but require a high standard of efficiency.

We were greeted by Yoann who is extremely helpful. He pointed out all the great places to eat nearby which was great. Our room was great but as it was the one right near the front door and the foyer it can get noisy when people are coming back late. Twice I had to get up after midnight and ask people to be quiet so bring earplugs just in case you get that room. Having said that this was a minor irritation (which we were warned about by Yoann and offered ear plugs) compared to the friendly help we had from Yoann and his lovely wife. Breakfast is incredible - the home made muffins are fantastic.

We would highly recommend La Rose as it is very central and great places to eat nearby.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper don't sleep in the front room or at least bring earplugs!

Clean and well designed rooms, friendly and helpful owner, convenient location and a good breakfast. An excellent place to stay when wanting to explore Cape Town. There is parking on the street which is watched over by a security guard in the evening.
