We (two couples) stayed at 4 Bayview Terrace for 6 nights in September. Wow what a great find. The house was very well presented and clean and had three bedrooms, a pool and a couple of fabulous decks with views to table mountain and the waterfront. The deciding factor on choosing this particular property in De Waterkant was the garage. We had a hire car and wanted to keep it off the streets at night and as this place has its own garage, parking and security was a breeze. The property was within walking distance to the V&A Waterfront and very central to all activities.
The management were great and very helpful, right from the booking stage through to departure. The cost as stated in a review below was great value and enabled us to have space and of course do some washing. The small cost of WiFi was well worth it. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Cape Town.

Found De Waterkant Cottages on Trip Advisor - stayed at 40 Napier Street for 5 nights. This was perfect for our needs - allowed us to explore Cape Town and find good food to eat, plus have a very comfortable place to stay, with each of us having an ensuite room at at least half the cost of a hotel in the area.

The manager was most helpful with both our booking and during our stay here. She recommended their driver for a tour to the Cape & its Peninsula - a most enjoyable day. We also used the hop on hop off bus to go further afield such as Kirstenbosch Gardens and the wineries - only downer was the closest bus stop was a distant walk, even so we explored the CBD & V&A area by foot.

Stayed for 2 nights at 7 Bayview. Magnificent house with great views over the city ,one of the best we ever stayed at .Very trendy and fashionable neighbourhood. We were family of 2+3 kids. Lots of eating places near by. Very close to cape quarter mall and 20 min walk to waterfront. we all wanted to stay longer. All of this at less than a third of the cost of 2 rooms at any decent hotel in the waterfront Can't even compare the level of this house to any 5 star hotel. The rental office very close with very good personal service.

We stayed in 75 Loader Street for 4 nights in late May, early June. Booking process online was easy and efficient. We had beautiful weather and were able to walk to Long Street and the V&A waterfront. We walked about 5 blocks to catch the red hop on and off bus to Table Mountain and Camp's Bay. We walked to several restaurants for breakfast and dinner also. The apartment was just perfect. We had lots of space and enjoyed the roof top deck for sunrises and sunsets, The bed was really comfortable and baths were functional. The kitchen is fully equipped and included a washer and dryer which we used the day we arrived. We paid for the internet service which worked perfectly and was inexpensive. There are several uneven cobblestone streets and steep hills in the neighborhood which add to the charm. Always felt safe as there were several traffic police in the area. There is a great local diner on Napier just below the office which serves the best breakfasts and lattes!

We stayed here for some nights and were a bit disappointed. The rooms and bathroom were spacious but almost no decoration. The location is good and central, not far from the waterfront, but the area self is not so touristic with a nice atmosphere.

Thank you for your feedback which we always appreciate.

Unlike a hotel room each property is completely different having its own unique character. Some places are traditional with more interior decoration whilst others have a minimalist design and feel. We know everyone does have different tastes and we do hope, if you do choose to stay with us again, you check out our website that has complete fact sheets, floor plans and pictures of each home and you can then pick a property that is more to your style and liking.

Thanks again for your comments and we look forward to you staying with us again soon.

We recently stayed in De Waterkant for several days at the end of our trip to South Africa. The area is like a little village in the middle of a busy city, with cobbled streets, historical houses and original boutique shops & restaurants. It felt very genuine and not at all touristy, like the Waterfront and Camps Bay, both of which are very commercial. When dining out, you can tell that it is mostly locals around you, which is something we really liked. And the selection of very good restaurants was astounding, and all within walking distance.
The house we rented was awesome (21 Jarvis), and directly across the road from the main hub of restaurants. Knowing about the crime in South Africa, it was great not having to walk down dark streets at the end of the night. And if we couldn't find street parking for our rental car, there is a parking garage directly opposite this house. The front door is raised several steps above street level, which also makes one feel a little safer when coming and going. But best of all, the coffee shop across the roads sells fabulous croissants and take-away coffees, so we took it in turns to fetch breakfast each day.
Andiamo Restaurant in the old Cape Quarter has complimentary wifi, so is a good spot to finish the day with a sundowner whilst catching up on emails.
The accommodation prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. And having your own house as opposed to staying in a hotel means you don't have to eat out every meal, plus you can stock up the fridge with good wines and snacks. This was the last leg of our trip so we also appreciated having a washing machine on site.
The house was beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable, with it's own private courtyard. All in all a great spot and highly recommendable!! We can't wait to return.
