We stayed for three nights in the apartment but spent quite some time in the guest house lounge. This is an absolute jewel and staff are most warm and welcoming. Booked all our dinners and tours and could not have done more to make our stay pleasant. Afternoon tea and coffee, wine and cheese, suggestions for dining. It was the whole package. The apartment is lovely clean and has all the mod cons. Only down side was no wi fi but upside was meeting people in the lounge in the afternoon. Would highly recommend Derwent House

Room Tip: We stayed i the apartment

This boutique hotel is warm and welcoming where the team (Dene) know you by name. The fittings are arty and classy and comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic and homely the rooms are lovely with a small en suite. There is even a cell phone for you to use during your stay. Wifi is great and free. Bed and linen are high quality drinks are provided on an honesty basis. Everything here is first class and nothing is a problem for the team to organise.

I chose Derwent House because of the great reviews, and it definitely did not disappoint. The service was excellent; all the staff was very helpful on arranging tours, suggesting restaurants, etc. Very comfortable, homey feel to Derwent. And excellent location on a quiet residential street, within walking distance of restaurants and downtown attractions. I'm looking forward to a return trip.

This hotel did not disappoint. It was easy walking to several great restaurants. The service was warm and wonderful. Very helpful with information concerning touring. We will stay again. As the other reviewers suggested, the common areas are very well done and were great places to start and end the day.

Room Tip: all were good

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left was wonderful. The staff at Derwent House were so warm and friendly providing everything we needed. The room was nicely decorated, the communal areas had a great African theme and breakfasts were delicious. We particularly liked the guest kitchen and honesty bar, and lounging by the pool on some baking hot mornings... The perfect place to rest after a hike up Table Mountain. The hotel is located at the top end of Kloof Street near to great bars, cafes and restaurants. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We loved everything about this hotel and its location was wonderful. The lady who ran the hotel was very informative and helpful to us in planning our day excursions and gave us some great restaurants to try. The breakfasts were delicious and I loved that it was a small quaint place. We had a wonderful view of Table Mountain from our room. It was truly a awesome place to stay!

We stayed at Derwent House based on a reference of another facility. I have to say that the location and property was perfect. Carol and Jo accommodated our rooms to suit our family's needs. We stayed in the main house - our children in a room without a balcony and ours down the hall with a beautiful deck overlooking Table Mountain. We helped ourselves to the honesty bar and spent most evenings on our deck enjoying a glass of wine. The breakfast was outstanding and after eating such a meal we didn't need to worry about another meal again until dinner. On our departure date, we had an early morning flight - too early for the schedule breakfast however, Carol and Jo saw to it that each of us had a bountiful 'takeaway' package to hold us over until our next destination. We miss the place already and will definitely be back.
