“Nice, quite, a nice walk to the harbor Area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2012

The Romney Park Hotel is nice as it is just far enough away from the harbor area that is nice and quiet. It’s an All Suite Hotel and Spa and has nice views of the ocean, Robben Island and the Green Point Stadium. I found the Staff to be excellent, the one dinner I had there during the week was very nice and the breakfasts we all excellent. It is a brief walk to the Harbor area and dependent which route you take a nice walk along the ocean. The room rate came with a Free Massage in their Wellness Spa area. I’d stay there again.

Room Tip: I like the higher floors for the view

We chose this hotel as we were travelling with our son and felt it would be nicer than two rooms. The location is great, views of Robben Island and Greenpoint stadium. Lovely balcony to enjoy a glass of wine after a days sightseeing. Spacious rooms and well maintained. The breakfast was great served outside in very pretty garden. All the staff were helpful and made us very welcome. The hotel is just a short cab drive to the waterfront and other attractions. Altogether a great place to stay and we will certainly go back

Room Tip: If you want good views go for higher level rooms

My fiancee and I stayed here for a week in late May. Well, OK; she wasn't my fiancee when we arrived, but she was by the time we departed. :)

In my mind, the Romney Park qualifies as a hidden gem. It's a small hotel, a bit tucked away from the main drag. But that is part of its charm too, as you feel less crowded or rushed in such a setting. We stayed in what was their basic room: a one bedroom suite. It was lovely, with a separate bedroom as well as a small kitchen, living room, and eating area. The balcony off the living room afforded us a gorgeous view of Greenpoint and the ocean beyond. We spent plenty of time waking up or just soaking it all in on that balcony.

The staff was attentive and provided us with anything we asked for, from arranging taxi and airport transfers to working out our car hire at a local branch of Avis. It really was no more difficult than simply asking and providing them with a few details, then letting them do the rest.

The breakfast was wonderful, with a variety of cold options as well as a hot made-to-order menu.

Parking our rental car there was easy. They have a small garage directly attached to the hotel with assigned spaces for guests. The security there as well as in the rest of the hotel was excellent, with video cameras and access buzzers assuring that only the appropriate folks are permitted in and out.

Overall, it was a beautiful experience and a great base for exploring Cape Town and its surrounds. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Not surprisingly, the rooms on the upper floor provide the best views.

What a view! From our room and huge balcony we did look out over Robben Island and the Atlantic Ocean and enjoyed a nice glass of wine while watching a spectacular sunset.
Great place to base yourself for a couple of days: spacious room, well equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom and separate living area. Their spa is great and it only cost R50-00 to go to the V&A by taxi!

This is one of the best “hotels” we have stayed in. Its location is perfect for us near the center of town, waterfront and roads out of Cape Town. Although some people would find it noisy with all the traffic we knew it was in town so we adjusted to it. The rooms are well cared for and in pristine conditions. We had two bedrooms en-suite bathrooms, sitting/dining room with DStv and small HiFi set and well equipped kitchen. There is also free Wi-Fi. The room service/cleaning was very good. The view overlooking the new soccer stadium on Greenpoint and Robben Island are breathtaking from the relatively large balcony. The staff very friendly and breakfast was very good. Parking in the garage is at an extra cost of only R60.00 per day is worth taking and the garage leads straight into the hotel. If you have safety issues this is well worth it. Well-done Romney Park.

The bedrom was unbelievable, the view amazing, great service, and very close to the V&A if you have a car.

Room Tip: Good views from the balcony in the 3rd floor. Stadium. But the size is really big.

Actually stayed here last year & didn't get around to writing & as it is now pouring with rain on Easter Monday, thought i would update some trip advisor stuff & dream of hotter climes.
We were upgraded to a beautiful , huge apartment with a gigantic balcony. So many places don't bother to give upgrade when they have space & whilst we don't expect it or ask, it is good business practice & real customer service.
Location good, though i'm no expert on the area, but it was easy enough to get around by taxi , the front desk will give you a number of reliable company, stick to the ones they offer you, the once we didn't, the price was treble.
Not sure we will be going back to SA but if you are looking for a really stunning place to stay, especially perhaps family or friends in a group , you will not do better.
I have added 2 photos which i hope do it justice. You can see the bed area opening onto the main room. The master bed had own dress room & big bathroom. 2nd bed suite was off entrance hall, totally private from main one. In addition to the huge dining area was the most comfy lounge, another loo in hall AND a full kitchen also with dining ! The balcony ran whole length with seating & dining table too.

Room Tip: Just study their website & e-mail direct.
