My husband and I stayed at Acorn House before Christmas whilst our 3 children stayed in our flat down the road. We loved the peace of our bedroom with its lovely view over the city, cool pool in the garden and the delicious and generous breakfasts served on the verandah every morning. Stewart was a delight and we very much look forward to staying at Acorn House again in the next few months.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were awesome and we really enjoyed the beautiful coffee always "on tap" We would definately choose Acorn House as our venue the next time we are in Cape Town.

This is a really beautiful and comfortable B&B. On our arrival we had an awkward experience. We were met at the door with an awkward silence. After greeting the person we told her that we had a reservation. Her response was a flat "hmmph" and walked away. Only after she came back did she welcome us. Then someone else took over and we were taken to our room.

The room was comfortable and very nice. We had a balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the bay. Later on someone else sat down with us to give us a brief overlook of Cape Town and suggestions for restaurants. The staff in general was very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast by the pool (gorgeous setting). Breakfast was excellent!!!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a balcony, the view is very nice!

We honestly don't know what the other guest houses in Cape Town are doing if Acorn is at no.4. Gift wrapped penguins? Stuart and Nabila were outstanding as front of house - knowledgeable, kind, unflappable and ever helpful with our many questions. Stuart is definitely the go-to guy for restaurant recommendations and table reservations. The little touches made it all (notes on your bed, great breakfasts, champagne and fairy lights waiting for us one night as this was a special trip). We're not sure if we were lucky or unlucky to have this as the first stop on our belated honeymoon. It was a fantastic start to the trip but everyone else had a LOT to live up to.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our holiday in South Africa. I can honestly say it is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. We were greeted on arrival (on a VERY hot day) with a glass of chilled water and a cool towel. Nabila was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. She and the other hosts, Fran and Stewart were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, giving us lots of ideas and advice on what to do and when, and booking us taxis to and from the restaurants we had booked. Acorn house is ideally located, you could walk all the way into town in about 20 minutes and to the tramway at table mountain in about 30.
Breakfast was great with a large variety of cereals, fruit, vegetables, breads and cakes available everyday. You could also order a variety of cooked breakfasts from the kitchen (the French toast and bacon was particularly good!)
The only tiny problem we had is that there was no air conditioning, but we opened the windows and the air seemed to cool a little at night.
It is the fantastic service that made this stay special for us. The staff really couldn't do enough for us and we really were sad to leave. I would unreservedly recommend this lovely guesthouse. Thank you Acorn House for a great start to our holiday!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the guest house have stunning views of table mountain!

Another pleasure to stay at Acorn House. The beautiful wood floors seemed slippery in my room, but everything else was outstanding. Breakfasts were incredible. The house "mascot", Kaia, was a delightful distraction.
