“Make this your stay in Cape Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2010

The communication between ourselves before our stay was good we had a few requests. They were helpful on.
On arrival to the time we left everyone was really helpful although we did make a nuisance of ourselves with Warda who helped us out big time.
We had a room at the back of the hotel which was a bit less noisy than the front. The room was spacious and clean with a kitchenette which we made use, had free wifi if you needed it. A tiny gripe about the room as the floors are hardwood the room did get a bit cold but then you had a heater which you could use, also you could hear the guests above you.
The beds were really comfortable.
The location was good it has a good choice of restaurants, including the 3 below the hotel, you also have Kloof st and Long street nearby if you fancy venturing further than the hotel. We like walking it took us about 30 mins to walk to the V & A waterfront, but if you dont fancy a walk a taxi costs about R50.
All the staff were really friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Thank you Warda, Fiona and Elsabe.

This boutique hotel is located very near Cape Town's city center and is an easy walk to shopping, restaurants, and bars. With three restaurants, Mexican, International, and Asian, affiliated with the hotel upstairs there is no reason for the lazy to step outside at all. The rooms are spacious, modern, and have every convenience at hand. Several things keep this hotel from becoming perfection though: bed sheets and towels could use a complete do-over as old stains are evident in both. The hot water is tricky in the winter time so you'll have to time your showers to give anyone else a chance at warmth. And during inclement weather, our track lighting did leak rain onto the nightstand! Not exactly raising confidence in our comfort or security. Impeccable hospitality from the hotel staff makes everything easy to fix. If the few minor issues were fixed this would be a stellar place to stay.

GOOD
A great little boutique hotel in central Cape Town. Secure parking which is important if you hire a car. Very chic decor and great beds - so comfortable we are importing the SA made mattresses back to the UK! Friendly staff, and three good restaurants nearby. We ended up here by accident - but it has made our stay in CT. Rooms have small kitchen. Clean and comfortable. PC in our room and free internet!
BAD
No BBC world on the TV (but two free Film channels)
No Pen or Paper
No tea towel in kitchen.
All but BBC sorted out with a phone call...............

We (4 of us) stayed here for 6 nights in Feb 2010. It is pretty much all you could ask for from a hotel. I will get the criticism out of the way first. The rooms are a tiny bit tired, as fixtures and fittings were some times chipped or coming loose. And our shower could've done with descaling. But aside from that the rooms were big, roomy, clean, with a little kitchenette should you need it. There was wireless as well as a PC in the room, and a great sound system, and a large flat screen TV. The hotel is situated in a great area, close to the busy streets of Kloof and Long. There are bars and restaurants downstairs, which will supply you with room service should you require. The staff were lovely and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning when we next visit Cape Town.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights in Sept.

On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and this continued throughout our stay here.

The room was large and well thought out with plenty of space for our luggage to be tidied away neatly. My only complaint would be the bathroom which was slightly tired and could probably do with a refurbishment; although it was very clean.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and subsequently very quiet. I would be concerned about the potential noise levels of the front rooms as they sit directly above two very popular, and subsequently very noisy, restaurants.

The location, just off Kloof Street, was ideal for exploring the nearby “trendy” shops and restaurants.

We stayed over the bank holiday which unfortunately meant that when we got around to trying to hire a car there was none available in Cape Town (all the locals had hired cars for the weekend) the hotel hired a driver and car for the day for us and we visited the point; I would also recommend our driver who was courteous and very informative (he also does township tours, airport pickup’s etc) Acghmat +27 735213207. We used him for our airport drop off and he even went out of his way to collect luggage we had mistakenly left in our room; we didn’t realize this until we got to the airport, I called him straight away and within 40 mins he was back at the airport with our luggage.

When we checked out the staff gave us a chocolate teacake with a note thanking us for staying which I thought was a lovely touch.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for guests and I would certainly recommend
using Acghmat for tours / transfers.

The front desk people were very kind and helpful during our three night stay. The room was huge compared to the hotels we have stayed out around the world, and the free internet was great! (At times slow service uploading pictures to our website, but general use was fine). The hotel does provide a computer with internet in each room, but our computer never worked (they said they would fix it, but that did not happen while we were there). There are a few restaurants outside the hotel that you could charge the food to your room, and there was a grocery store a block away. Our only complaint is that the noise outside our room (we were street side) was horrible! It sounded like a street party every night, and on our final night I got up to find the earplugs!
