Twenty Two has to be the friendliest and most comfortable place to stay in the whole of Cape Town. We received the warmest of welcomes from hosts Dominic and Allan who greeted us like old friends.

Each of the four rooms is delectable with stunning design, beds of Ritz Carlton standard and European luxury bathrooms with walk in showers and travertine tiles.

Our room had access to an expansive balcony with additional seating and a view to die for over Cape Town's famous skyline.

Downstairs we had full access to a contemporary lounge and dining area which led out onto a large deck with comfortable seating and a long lap pool.

You are treated to some fantastic breakfasts with local fruits, breads and cooked food which are all included in the reasonable room rate. The honesty bar is a lovely idea with unlimited free water and some delectable South African wines at very reasonable prices.

Each morning Monty the cat was outside our door wanting a fuss and purring away.

This is a home from home that we will be returning to and recommending to our friends. Dominic and Allan have really come up with a winning formula in a safe and ideally located part of the city which will easily win customers over some of the faceless hotels we could have booked in Cape Town.

Our 4 nights at Twenty Two were the highlight of our trip to South Africa in May. The accommodation was luxurious and chic, and felt intimate and cosy. Our room had a balcony with views of the city and Signal Hill and was as beautifully decorated as the rest of the property.

However, it was Dominic and Allan who made our stay really special - with their generosity, attention to detail and tireless efforts to make everybody comfortable. Their recommendations on things to do and places to eat were spot on.

Most highly recommended.

We stayed for six nights at Twenty Two in March of this year and totally loved it. We had a fabulous room, with a large en-suite and balcony with wonderful views over the city.

The personal service we received from Alan (Dominic was back in the UK at this time) was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, from booking taxi's, recommending restaurants and general tips about where to go and where not to go.
The breakfasts were served outside in the sun, and were superb and kept us going until dinner that evening.
Would definately recommend Twenty Two to friends and family, and if was in Cape Town again wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Twentytwo is everything the contemporary and world-weary traveller needs for the perfect stay in Cape Town. Rooms are large, beautifully decorated and contain all the amenities one could need - ours had a balcony with views over the city and bay, and which was the perfect location for pre-dinner drinks or a wee nightcap before bed. Service from both the owners (Allan and Dominic) and their team of smiling ladies was the appropriate blend of unobtrusive availability and helpful advice on the best places to eat, drink and generally make merry in this cosmopolitan city. Definitely recommend this gem to all visiting Cape Town looking for something more than the anonymity and production line approach of mainstream hotels.

My stay at twentytwo was the high point of my trip to South Africa.

I travelled with my father and sister who loved it too. The rooms and amenities are exquisite: tasteful, understated luxury. The Ace card though is the service - Dominic and Allan are so attentive and kind.

Everything is done with such flair, including the delicious breakfasts served poolside. The relaxed atmosphere can be seen in touches like the 'honesty bar' which really makes you feel at home, and of course Monty the cat! And with no 5am game drive wake up call, it's a great place to relax after a gruelling safari!

The location is perfect - wonderful views, easy to drop down into the town, or pop over to Camps Bay. I have no reservations (until I make my next reservation at twentytwo!)

We took our first visit to Cape Town at the end of April and stayed at Twenty Two for 8 nights. It turned out to be a perfect base for exploring Cape Town, the Cape and the Winelands.

Alan and Dominic are charming hosts, always finding time for lively conversation and very helpful advice on how to be independent in Cape Town and the surrounding areas, recommending and booking restaurants, even making sure you have a good table (Savoy Cabbage our favourite).

In our experience Cape Town turned out to be very friendly and hospitable contrary to some warnings we had read before visiting.

The location of Twenty Two, it's rooms and decor are near perfect, highly recommended. We hope to return.

I have just returned from my trip to cape town and was slightly speechless when I left twenty two.

The accommodation reflects the personality of the two hosts - Allan and Dominic. It is exquisitely stylish, immaculately presented and exudes warmth and friendliness.

I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to stay in a fabulous location with superb views that can be admired from a private balcony. Or to someone who wants to have breakfast served to them outside on a sunny day by the pool. Four different rooms to cater for individual styles and a friendly cat who pops in to say hi every now and then.

What made my holiday a fab holiday instead of just an ordinary holiday is Allan and Dominic - so helpful and friendly and reliable. Two true "salt of the earth" chaps.

There is no catch - twenty two is just a great place to stay!
