Owner description: At the tip of the Cape Peninsula, 60km SouthWest of Cape Town, lies Cape Point. Located within the southern section of Table Mountain National Park; a declared World Heritage site, as part of the Cape Floral region. The Park encompasses 7750Ha of rich and varied Fauna and Flora. Cape Point is a nature entusiast's paradise. Rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200 metres above the sea and cutting deep into the ocean provide a spectacular background for the Parks’ rich bio-diversity. The scenic beauty of Cape Point is not its sole allure; it is also an international icon of great historical interest with many a visitor drawn to the area because of its rich maritime history. Home to the Flying Dutchman Funicular and the Two Oceans restaurant.

“Lovely place”

A very nice and lovely place of Cape Town area.Fortunately I saw 2 baboons and 4 zebras when I visited there. I'd like to appreciate South Africa's nature and protection plan. Cape Point nature Reserve is must see place in Cape Town. It's definitely lovely place.

“Wish I could stay longer”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

On my Cape Town day tour we where just driving through this area to get to the Cape Point. I wish we had more time to enjoy the reserve more and to be able to see some animals. The place is beautiful and is definitly worth a visit and not just a drive through.

“Windy lighthouse”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

After a nice walk up the stairs you will arrive to the lighthouse on the top of the hill. From here you have a beautiful view over the ocean. The wind never seems to stop aswell as the tourists. Didn't stay here a long time since this was the last stop with the day tour in Cape town and the time was running out. Didn't do me much since there is not much else to do then get up there, enjoy the view, take some pictures and walk down again. Even if it's a short stop, it's still a must see.

“Funicular!”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

It's hard to add much to previous reviews. This is not the southern-most point in Africa (Cape Agulhas to the east is), but it is south of the Cape of Good Hope. The wind seems to be a constant factor. This would be an excellent destination - despite the tour buses - but for fans, the funicular makes it even more special.
