This is a small boutique hotel in a nice neighborhood of Capetown. It has a great location with views of Table Mountain and near to happening Kloof Street. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, there is a lovely small pool area and a private area where massages can be booked. We truly enjoyed our stay there. Of note, they warned us that they tend to book up a year in advance (although we were able to secure two nights six weeks in advance).

We chose this place for its really good reviews and it was OK but definitely not impressed.
Pros
The building was nice old renovated house with modern fixtures.
Location not very central but nice and quiet on a lovely street

Cons
I expect better service from a "small / boutique" hotel

The breakfast was a buffet, prepared very early in the morning to sit for hours. The morning we left buffet was ready at 5 am - this was nice for us as we were leaving early - but preparing all the ingredients including juices and fruit salads is not acceptable at a small size hotel especially at this price.

I wanted to pay for our stay with USD as our card didnt work but the exchange rate offered by Four Rosmead was %15 lower even compared to airport. Luckily our taxi driver was not looking to profit from change exchange and gave us the regular rate to pay for our stay.

Dear Leyla,

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your one night stay with us.

As a boutique hotel we strive to sell a memorable experience to guests. Unfortunately as you only arrived at 3pm and had to rush off to a lunch meeting and then left at 06h00 the next morning, we did not have the opportunity to spend as much time with you as we would have liked. Most of our one nighters regret spending such a short time with us.

Concerning our location and your view that we are not central, it depends on what you are measuring us to. We are closer to Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Clifton, Kirstenbosch and Company Gardens than the V&A waterfront is to these key attractions by way of example and so it depends on what interests you. We therefore feel your comment about our location is unfair.

Our breakfast starts at 07h30 with preparation of the fresh produce starting from 06h30. As you were departing early we especially prepared an early breakfast for you at 5am. Our a la carte menu is prepared to order but unfortunately it is not possible to prepare the buffet to order as well. We do however keep the cheeses and cold meats in the fridge until guests arrive for breakfast. The fresh fruit and juices were also stored in the fridge after you departed.

We are not a foreign exchange bureau and therefore do not accept foreign currency to settle guest accounts. As you had problems with your credit card, we tried to accommodate you by offering this service, but as we still need to pay fees on exchanging the currency ourselves, we cannot compete with rates offered by the airport. We are in fact not supposed to accept foreign currency in cash. Payment into our account using foreign currency converted at the banks exchange rate is acceptable. These are the Reserve Banks rules not ours.

We endeavour to exceed guests expectations and we regret leaving you disappointed. We hope that that this response will at least provide you with additional information that you were perhaps unaware of.

Yours sincerely
Nadine

This is a beautiful boutique guest house tucked in a quiet corner of Cape Town just below Table Mountain but within easy reach of the city centre on foot or by taxi . It is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. The room was very tastefully decorated in modern style and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and the breakfasts were a delight. If returning to Cape Town, I would certainly stay there again and would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

The beautiful guesthouse just behind the relaxing pool was ours for four nights. Spacious, modern and lovely! Excellent breakfasts - but the best part was all the staff - so helpful!! They made everything a breeze!

A stunning little boutique hotel which exceeded our expectations - which were very high! We had a beautiful room on ground floor, which despite being next to the front door, was very quiet. It was elegantly furnished and had a beautiful shuttered, arched window and original fireplace. The bathroom was.large with a great shower. The whole property was beautifully decorated in muted tones, creating a classy and tranquil environment. The three managers were outstanding hostesses and ensured that our first leg of a month's trip to South Africa was perfect, by arranging restaurant bookings, Table Mountain trip, taxis etc. breakfasts were first class, served on the beautiful decked terrace. The gardens were a little oasis with a lovely pool at one side and small but pretty landscaped gardens around the property. They even kindly left chocolates on our bed for our anniversary. Only a £2.50-£3.00 taxi ride to the V & A Waterfront. Will definitely return!
