“Perfect end to our holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2011

We decided very spontaneously to end our southern africa trip in Cape Town, as we were planned to leave from Johannesburg, and it was probably the best days of our trip.
The email conversation with Ruth was quick, helpful and very friendly. When we arrived in the morning, Ruth was there to welcome us and help us plan our 3 days in Cape town.
From the first moment we felt so comfortable and at home, and the whole lodge is just wonderful! We've booked an upstairs room, which was huge and had an amazing view of table mountain and the city. The location is just great, it is in a lovely and quiet neighbourhood, you can walk to lots of fantastic restaurants and bars and you reach city center in 10 minutes (walking distance). We've never felt unsafe there.
Every morning, Lisa and Nita (the amazing ladies who work there) made us a delicious breakfast and Ruth helped us with whatever we needed.
All in all, these three days where the perfect end to our holiday and I would never stay anywhere else than at Liberty Lodge! Ruth, thanks again for three amazing days at your wonderful place!

My friend and I stayed in Liberty Lodge for 3 nights in October 2010.
The owner: Ruth's email correspondence whilst booking the lodge from Ireland was swift, informative, and very friendly. This was to be continued throughout our stay as she was helpful in every way.
The Lodge: Situated in a great location. Close to restaurants, Table mt, and the sight seeing bus. Its beautifully decorated. The view from the balcony is lovely. Our room was huge, our beds very comfortable and it was quiet and peaceful at night.
Breakfasts were super, served in a lovely little courtyard. (Ruth arranged for breakfast to be prepared for us one morning when we had to leave very early).
Overall, we had a great time staying at Liberty Lodge and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Spending a 9 day holiday in this delightful Guest House exceeded all our expectations. Location is fabulous , and you are twenty minutes or closer from the beaches, main attractions and the city. Breakfast and Room were delightful. Stunning view of Table mountain.
Ruth Parsons , the owner is friendly helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
Her suggestions are well sourced when it comes to eating out,
and Ruth doesn't hesitate in making all the booking for you. Which
is so helpful and makes the holiday hassle free.

I was a Student at the time and looking for a guest lodge for my parents to stay over, while they were coming to visit me in Cape Town.
Where all the other Guest Houses gave me unpleasant looks, Ruth was the only one to welcome me and my request with a friendly smile!
From that day I haven't bothered looking for anything else!

Thank you Liberty Lodge, I would definitely recommend you to anyone!
Kind Regards
SKY

My friend and I stayed at Liberty Lodge for our 5 days in Cape Town following a safari in Kapama, and couldn't have been happier with our decision. Ruth greeted us warmly and helped to make sure our visit was great. She made great suggestions for meals and activities, and seemed very concerned that we enjoy Cape Town as those who live there do, rather than only seeing the touristy side. The breakfasts were fun and delicious, and the staff was wonderful. All this at a reasonable price in a very centrally located spot.

We happened upon Liberty Lodge through the recommendation of another lodge in Cape Town and were very glad that we did. Ruth is incredibly accommodating and makes you feel very much at home. I think she might be the unofficial mayor of Cape Town as she knows all the spots to go and everyone knows her! This is a small lodge that is within easy walking distance of shops & restaurants and the rooms are neat, clean and lovely. The waterfront, Camps Bay and Table Mountain are all a 5 minute drive away.

Best of all, make sure you have one of Lisa's delicious omellettes in the morning and linger over the very good coffee.
