Ruth at Liberty Lodge provided us with the perfect 'second honeymoon'.  Her stylish, Victorian guesthouse is perfectly situated within walking distance of lovely and interesting, assorted cares, bars and restaurants. Ruth is full of local knowledge and provides a homely but immaculate place to stay. Great breakfasts too. We'll definitely come back and thoroughly recommend this charming guesthouse and hostess.

What a lovely place - could not have asked for a warmer welcome. It's a cozy yet elegant, beautiful place. The breakfast was superb. Ruth, the host, could not have done more for me. The only downside was not having tea and coffee facilities in the room itself - I was reluctant to use the facilities on the landing when I fancied a cuppa at 3am in case I disturbed other guests. But otherwise, a perfect place, great location - and views of the mountain.

We (two couples) spent four nights here and were very happy. The location, as everyone else has noted, is great - so close to Table Mountain and an easy, extremely safe walk to some fine restaurants, both casual and upmarket. Breakfasts were lovely, esp. in the pretty courtyard, weather permitting.
Ruth was very helpful with bookings and advice, as were her cheerful, helpful staff, Lisa and Nina. We had both bedrooms (facing the upstairs deck) and they were large and well decorated, very small ensuites, but serviceable. Parking is on the street, could be a challenge at times but during the four days we always got something alongside or opposite the BnB. You cannot go wrong with Liberty Lodge BnB!

Excellent breakfast and location - can walk to downtown cape town and restaurants , views to Table Mountain and running through national park to lookout over the city from the Guest House. Ruth very welcoming and lots of advice about things to do and see. Thoroughly recommend.

We spent 5 wonderful days in Cape Town. This Lodge together and Ruth, its owner, as well as Liza and Nina (her assistants) had a big share of responsibility for it. I was celebrating my 60th aniversary accompanied by my son and a firend and we were all very tired. The nice house, the warm reception, the wonderful breakfasts, the marvelous view, the nice cookies that we ate in the evening as a compliment, the wide balcony looking on to Table Mountain and to the city down until the sea, the quiteteness of the lodge street - all ensured that we had a relaxed stay. But we were also near the main busy city roads and touristic places so we also had a lot of fun without stressing. Congratulations Ruth. All the best, Carmen Ramos / Pedro Tomás, Mozambique & Elena Dias, Johannesburg

After a recommendation from a friend we spent three nights at LIberty Lodge and we were very happy with our choice. Ruth, the owner, goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and ensure that you enjoy all that Cape Town has to offer, from day trips to resturants, including making bookings and sorting taxis. Lisa also provides a lovely breakfast which if you ate it all might restrict your eating for the rest of the day!!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have everything that you would expect from a four/five star hotel. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy the roof terrace or courtyard but the sitting and dining room is equally lovely.

All in all a great choice of place to stay in Cape Town and excellent value for money.

This is definitely a home away from home! The rooms are lovely and the atmosphere in the whole house is welcoming and serene. You are withing walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc and even if you should lack something Ruth, the owner,is incredibly sweet and helpful and will organize just about anything you need. She was extremely helpful and flexible to meet our needs and we would come back any time!
