What a great hotel. We chose it because it was ranked so highly on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. The decor is so quirky and cute. They were renovating the pool while we were there and the smell of paint pervaded the courtyard a bit, but that was fine. It was too cold to swim and the pool looks great now! We were given a local cell phone to use to call a taxi wherever we went in the city, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. I was also able to use it to text my friend who lived in the area.Very convenient! It's obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into this place; I can't recommend it enough!

We spent part of our honeymoon in the Blackheath Lodge and without wanting to repeat what has already been said about this location it was a fantastic introduction to Capetown. Everything about the hotel and staff is top class, from the simplest of things like the welcome you receive every time you walk through a door, to the standard of the rooms. The staff went out of their way to help and assist when booking trips and giving advice on the must sees and dos of Capetown. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, more so the service to go with it. We unfortunately only got to stay in the hotel for three days, but any future trips to this neck of the woods, we will definitely be staying in Blackheath. A special mention needs to go to Charle and Godfrey who made our stay so memorable. We can't recommend this hotel enough!!!

Hate to recommend this place as it means we may not get a room next time but they are too good to pass up.

We spent the beginning part of our honeymoon here and had the most amazing time. The place is so inviting and all of the staff is beyond helpful - it felt like home away from home. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and eating home cooked breakfast every morning. The decor is fresh, clean and cozy. We rented the mini cooper convertible for several days and just loved exploring the coast. It was great to have Blackheath as our home base. Antony and his staff provided us with great restaurant recommendations and made sure that we had everything we could possibly need. We definitely plan on returning again soon!

I have traveled all over the world and am hard pressed to think of a more pleasant establishment where I have spent my time. The Blackheath Lodge in the Sea Point neighborhood of Cape Town was fantastic. Antony and John provide excellent service, always having informed answers to my questions about the city and trips and transportation, and the staff (especially Charlette, Jean Claude, Peter, Godfrey and all the lovely ladies who took care of us during the mornings) were top notch as well. So many smiles! They all seemed to generally care about us guests and chat with us as people, not customers. The location was great as it is on a side street between Main Road and High Road, so there are restaurants, grocery and bars within walking distance. I felt safe to walk around, even at night. It is a quick ride into Cape Town CBD or about a 25-30 minute walk into the city center via the High Road. The lodge itself was beautiful and comfortable, complete with a fire nook and house cat to warm with during the winter days of my stay. The food was wonderful every morning and the ladies making breakfast were a pleasure to see each day. And you MUST have the afternoon biscuits left out for tea! They are addictive.
I can't recommend the Blackheath Lodge enough for singles and couples visiting Cape Town. I will definitely look them up again when I return.
