“A piece of paradise !”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

Anthony, first of all we are so sorry that we needed so long to write a review!! When we came back to Germany we start mooving to another house and now I'm looking the first time over our great pictures from Africa.

The Blackheath Lodge is a gem in Cape Town. Its cozy furnished and the lovely details all over the place let you feel relaxed and welcome from the first time when you walk in.
The rooms are all different and have very beautiful interior. You even have a cell phone in the room where you can do your own dinner reservations or get in contact with friends. Its like Anthony and his team are thinking about everything.

The breakfast on the little porch is so yummy and the ladies cook with so much passion and love that you can sit and chat there all day long. Its hard to leave the house and the sweet pool area :-)

In Anthonys little shop you can buy beatiful handmade african gifts and I must say the scarves and bowls are the best souveniers I've ever bought ! Everyone at home was totally overwhelmed.

The pricing is a little bit high but if you know what huge service you can expect and how beautiful the team and the house is you pay it with no regrets !!

Also Anthony helped me with all his time and his heart to arrange us a wonderful round trip through the Garden Route and the Little Karoo Area. I asked for outstanding guesthouses and was not dissapointed with one. Even if we had to change the plan spontanious he was always there for our problems. THANKS SO MUCH !!

We will definitly come back one day. Looking forward to meet all of you again.
Hugs

PS: Anthony we drove to SPIER on our way to the airport and guess who has a nice big Coca-Cola Kudu here in Germany now ;-) thanks so much for the tipp !! I love it everytime I walk by.

If you are looking for a very nice place to stay i Cape Town, you should really consider Blackheath Lodge. We stayed there for a week, used it as our base to discover Cape Town and the surroundings.

Situated near beach and Waterfront, well kept, good rooms and beds. Excellent service, nothing is impossible. Quiet and safe area.

Room Tip: Try the Loft, a small apartment with a view over the sea.

This is a truly brilliant place to stay - relaxed, friendly and immacualtely maintained.
The staff are so helpful and kind and make you feel really welcome.
I have no hesitation in a major recommendation for anyone to stay here.

Room Tip: I stayed in Room 1 which has a very large double bed and good shower room. It's at teh front of...

My daughter and I stayed at the Blackheath Lodge and loved it! It was an amazing collection of vintage, chic, funky as well as charming. Antony and Jean-Claude were amazingly gracious hosts that welcomed us and helped us find all the things we were hoping to do. The kitchen staff were polite and made delicious breakfasts. There was a darling cat named Soda that hung out around the property. There was no detail that was left unattended. Honestly, we left Cape Town feeling we had made the best discovery of all - Blackheath Lodge!

Room Tip: We loved the blue room with the chandelier! It was large and still cozy; charming and yet clean; th...

My husband and I spent a total of 6 nights at the Blackheath Lodge. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and breakfast is spectacular! Hosts and staff are great and always willing to help or offer advice. The Lodge is just a few blocks from the water and a beautiful walk along the seawall. As well, the location is convenient to get on local buses which take you to waterfront for 8 rand, or to the red/blu line buses for your tours around Cape Town and the surrounding area. If I return to Cape Town, I will definitely be staying at Blackheath again.

This was such a nice home from home feeling, it was sad to leave. Thank you to all the kind staff and the wonderful looking after.

Room Tip: The last room in the alleyway can be a little noisy due to the washing machine located close by.

Blackheath provides a home away from home. Comfortable spacious rooms and delicious breakfast every morning. The owners are delightful with great recommendations and always willing to help. However what made convinced me this is the place to stay is the fact they take care of the people who work for them. The donations to their fund are used to place the children of their workers in local schools to give them a better opportunities and education. Truly remarkable!
