“More about Cecil Rhodes”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Rhodes had a huge influence on early white settlement history. His cottage contains lots of info about the man. Manned by volunteers it's open between 10am-3.30pm. Has parking almost opposite on Main road.

“A wonderful piece of Cape Town history in a stunning setting on False Bay”
Reviewed June 19, 2007

What a great find. Situated just outside Muizenberg, this little cottage museum - once the private retreat of Cecil John Rhodes - is dedicated to his life, ideals, achievements and death and is where he spent his final days. Sadly his death mask was stolen from the room in which he died. The museum overlooks False Bay and has a glorious garden which is a combination of English country and Cape fynbos. You can see why CJR loved the place so much. If you are interested in the history of the Cape this is NOT TO BE MISSED! The museum is run by a band of dedicated volunteers who offer a wealth of information, and a cup of tea!
