We came here on our second visit to Cape Town. It is very close to the city centre (we took the car all the way up - the turn off to Signal Hill is about 10 minutes drive from the main business area and then another 10 minutes drive to get to the top).

The view from the top is glorious. At least it was when we went on a beautiful early September afternoon. There are only really views at the top, nothing else, but what views! It might not compare to Table Mountain itself but you get a great view of Table Mountain. The view on Mouille Point and the Atlantic Ocean is also wonderful. There appear to be paths but we did not go further than about 100 metres from the top. We spent an hour and a half relaxing.

We drove over to Signal Hill, a landmark flat-topped hill next to Lion's Head and Table Mountain. It was crazy windy here, so we didn't linger outside long.

There were some really interesting birds running around. This was our first time seeing the helmeted guineafowl, but we would definitely come across them frequently during the next two weeks. They are native to Africa, mainly south of the Sahara, and they are the best known of the guineafowl bird family.

Amazing views and breathtaking scenery of Cape Town and nearby mountains. Must do attraction. Won't be disappointed. You probably be disappointed that you have to eventually leave from on top of the hill after viewing the amazing scenery of Cape Town.

The views are great if you can’t make it to Table Mtn. which a lot of time is covered in clouds. Doesn’t require much time, unless you are hiking up. A fun side stop anyway.

Lovely views, an easy walk, great sunset if you go at the right time of year when it is clear and warm
