“Great short hike”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

It won't take you more than an hour of leisurely hiking, and the experience at the tiny summit is breathtaking. The views of the city bowl and Atlantic seaboard on either side of Lions Head makes Lions Head a unique vantage point in the city (and an awesome panaromic photography point too).

“A great hike - but not for those who suffer vertigo!”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Be prepared for a 3 to 4 hour hike and clamber. This is not a casual stroll, so go prepared for a scramble and some knee shaking views. Well worth the climb, but go prepared with water, sun screen and a jacket in case it rains. Fantastic views 360 degrees as you circle the hill on your climb.

“Amazing hike with spectacular views”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Up and down takes 2 hours +\- it's a decent test, couple of options near the summit but is user friendly for about everyone. Take water along and rather do the hike early in the day or in the evenings. Lovely for family's, gives great perspective over Cape Town

“Hike on the 31st of Dec”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

It seemd that us and the rest of Cape Town had decided that this was the day to make up for all the overindulgence of the holidays by trudging up the nonstop incline to get to the top of Lion's Head. Although we did have to wait a bit at the chain ladders etc for people in front of us or coming down, this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the view at the top - definitely worth it. From a timeing point of view if you're walking at a good pace without lots of stops you can get to the top within 1 hour. In summer, leave super early in the morning as it gets very hot! If your'e nervous of hikes or scrambling up rocks, beware because there is some of that involved.

“Stunning”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

An excellent substitute when it was too windy to go to table mountain. Views down over the coast are stunning and being able to have a 270 degree of Cape Town helps!
