Our first stop on our first trip to Capetown - Chris & Nikki are superb hosts. Always on hand to recommend & book great places to eat, join you on the balcony looking over Capetown for a sundowner (without being overbearing). Rooms are well finished & spotless. Great position in a v pretty suburb about 10min walk from restaurants on Kloof St & a bit further to the bars & more restaurants on Long St.

Lezard Bleu is just great !

First off ... the rooms. All different, all nicely decorated, and all very welcoming. OK, true, I didn't spend a night here as I was on a flying visit only, so I cannot comment on how comfy the beds were, but they LOOKED very comfy !!

The Tree House in particular is very quirky ... you get to it either by climbing a lot of stairs OR there is a slope / ramp ... but it is right up high, with great views, and ideal if you want a bit of privacy.

There is a pool area, 4 dogs at last count, and a spacious dining room with a 'family / communal' table where you all sit together for breakfasts ... which are a feast in their own right !

What makes this place for me, however, is firstly its location ... you sit out in the garden and look straight up at Table Mountain. Absolutely wonderful. The suburb is Oranjezicht - leafy, quiet, upmarket ... a real 'feel good' factor. You can easily walk from here down to the V&A Waterfront - it will take about an hour - but DO get a taxi back if you are coming back late at night.

Secondly, what makes this place are the owners, Chris and Nikola. They are so friendly, so welcoming and so warm. Nothing is too much trouble for either of them ... Chris mapped out a route for us when we said we were going to walk down to the Waterfront, and even included where to stop for lunch in case we got tired en-route and needed refreshments ! Nikola has a small curio shop too in the corner of the dining area, and I believe I am right in saying some of the proceeds go back into the local community, as the gifts on sale are all locally sourced.

Definately a winner as far as I am concerned.

What more to say? Lezard Bleu is a delight! The Neumanns are wonderful, the staff is friendly and extremely competent, the house is a bright and modern art gallery, and the breakfast is simply the best which we had in South Africa. The neighbourhood is a convenient walk to the City centre and the Company Gardens, but is also easily accessible by car. Highly recommended.

This guest house is absolutely beautiful, warm and informal. Our bedroom was large and extremely comfortable with a well-appointed bathroom and beautiful patio. There is amazing African art throughout the house and extraordinary garden, which has a perfect view of Table Mountain and a distant view of the harbor. It is quiet and feels very private; I was amazed to find a full table of other guests at breakfast our first morning. The extensive buffet breakfast - including made-to-order eggs, fresh juices, assorted cheeses, breads, fruit and cereals - is as beautifully presented as it is delicious. Lizzie the Manager and the Neumann family are extraordinary hosts; even their dogs make you feel like part of the family. They are attentive, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The only problem that we had was saying good-bye!

This is a wonderful guesthouse, with very nice owners, Chris and Nikki, and the staff as well. We got a very nice reception even though we arrived at midnight. The place is very nice and situated just at the foot of the Table Mountain, so we had a great view from our veranda. The breakfast was the best we had during our 3 weeks holliday. We stayed there for 6 days and if we are going back to Cape Town, we already know where to stay. And we will certainly recommand our friends to choose Lezard bleu.

Hans and Nikola set the very warm and friendly tone of this lovely guesthouse, conveniently situated for most of Cape Town's attractions.Great breakfasts; excellent service and sound advice from Hans on restaurants and places to see made Lezard Bleu a great first stop on our 3 weeks in South Africa.Nikola is also involved with local initiatives to improve the life/opportunities of children from the Townships. Informal wine tasting on their terrace overlooking Table Mountain were an added bonus.

We had a fantastic holiday in South Africa and spent 6 nights of it at Lezard Bleu. What a fantastic place. We had the treehouse and one of the corner rooms. Both of these rooms were very clean and luxurious but the treehouse had that extra special something. Chris, Nikki, Robin and the staff there are the nicest people you could wish for. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their breakfast was to die for. If trip advisor had the option, we would give it much more than five stars!!!! Definitely going back. The dogs were really lovely too, they were very well behaved and we wished we could take them home with us!
