This memorial is very beautiful. Can see Newland stadiums from here. There is a hiking trail from this place which leads to Kirstenbosch then to Constantia. This place is located exactly behind the Devils Peak mountain. Very calm and nice to spend some time.

Take a trip up to the Rhodes Memorial if you are in Cape Town, it offers a wonderful view of the city and the ocean. The memorial was apparently designed by Herbert Baker, an English architect who was patronised by Rhodes and the lions are very like the ones in Trafalgar Square!
There is a really good small thatched stone built restaurant behind the memorial which is a good place to have coffee or lunch, whilst admiring the view.

We came here with some take-away to relax and enjoy a little walk. This is definitely a great place to enjoy a picnic as there is PLENTY of nice spots. Our dog really got adventurous but keep pets on a leash due to the high incline hills. There is a restaurant nearby too just in case. Overall, the views are great and there is plenty of paths to take but keep in mind that this is mostly just a typical hiking trip!

Rhodes Memorial is worth a visit if only to enjoy lunch at the shaded outdoor restaurant adjacent to the memorial.
The experimental members of our party enjoyed Springbok burgers and rated them highly. My calamari was perfectly cooked and was served with salad. The views from the restaurant and the memorial across Cape Town are spectacular- and provide an opportunity for fabulous photographs.

Nice place to come and enjoy the peace ad quite, and to view Cape Town from above without having to climb up!
There is a cafe behind that serves a scone with cheese, well worth the trip.
