The memorial was very grand both in design and scale. I walked up the steps at the back and wandered through the memorial which meant the stunning view opened out before me and what a sight it was! Being further round from Table Mountain you have a completely different view of Cape Town and looking back on the memorial was equally impressive.
I didn't test out the Cafe but it seems to get good reviews. There was plenty of parking but be careful not to park in the upper area which is for the University only and means you could well be fined / clamped. There are signs up about this restriction.
Well worth the visit! :)

What a lovely place filled with History and amazing views of Cape Town. The huge stairways and lions are also a view not to be missed.

For me this is a must see in Cape Town. The memorial took my breath away! After all, Rhodes wasn't a King or President and yet here's a huge monument in a prime location. Makes you want to know more about the man!

Lovely spot to look out on Cape Town from. There is a tea room if you do not mind a wait and lovely natural surroundings

One drives past the base of the memorial on the M3 to Muizenberg, without realizing this is one of the essential stops in Cape Town. Set high in the nature reserve looking down on Table Bay, the setting is impressive and the grandiose monument brings home a lot of the history. Plus the restaurant is a quiet and terrific place to have lunch surrounded by nature but in the heart of the city. First time I have thought to visit after decades of visits to Cape Town; glad I did.
