The castle is well preserved and the exhibition was very interesting. It was easy to self guide with a cheap leaflet from the main entrance.

What an awesome experience.... there is free parking available too, if you just drive and look carefully.
I met up with one of the Curators there and he was so informative and gave me soooo much information. The displays are excellent, and if you are there at the correct time, you get to hear the cannon being fired.
Lovely experience, and well worth the visit!

I have visited the Castle of Good hope a few times, and each visit is a new experience for me. The history of Cape Town, slavery and Dutch East India Company is astonished. The architecture is amazing, the view over the city from top of castle is breathtaking and the tour was quite interesting. From the station it is not even a 5 minute walk., very easy to find.

We managed to time our visit to see the changing of the guard and the firing of the cannon. There are also guided tours conducted by very competent tour guides, a trip to the castle is highly recommended.

Very beautiful against the backdrop of the mountains, free parking, only R28 to get in (TAKE CASH)... you walk yourself around if you opt to go without a tour and it is peaceful and interesting.
