Good impressions are created from the check-in. Friendly, welcoming front of house staff provide loads of suggestions and ideas. We were booked into an upstairs room. Following a cold and wet day after dinner we decided to snuggle down in the comfortable large bed with a cheery fire. A large flat screen TV on top of the courtesy-bar offers numerous channels to choose from. The room was typically Victorian spaciousness with seperate shower and toilet. Large sash windows provided plenty of light and views of the city.
Breakfast offers a variety of breads, jams, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, fruit juices, and fruit with the usual typical British breakfast options of bacon, eggs, sausage, savoury mince, haddock tomato and beans at NO extra cost. A delicious meal to start the day's adventures or work.

Great location[easy walking to city, shops and restaurants], Nice and beautiful Victoria building, White wall's room, Simple deco and clean, great service & breakfast = THE WALDEN HOUSE

Facilities simply but great & needed as like Internet hookup, a refrigerator, television, and laundry service. The room had enough room for beautiful couch, chair and the most importance the double bed are so comfortable!

The staff very friendly and helpful. They provided simple but great breakfast, good and useful information for us to visit while we first-time in cape town. The most importance things are...... they are so friendly and charming!

Highly recommended !

Have stayed at Walden House a number of times and always have a most enjoyable stay. Nice and central and a range of restaurants in walking distance. Rooms are well equipped and airy and a delicious breakfast is served. Karen and her team run a good show and always look forward to staying there

We stayed in Walden House three nights on our honeymoon. They reserved for us the suite, excellent accommodation with king size bed, very nice bathroom with both shower and bathtube, comfortable wardrobe. Perfect location to visit Table Mountain, just at a 5 minutes by car from the V&A Waterfront. Nice and helpful staff. Hearty breakfast, both cooked and continental. Complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate our wedding. Complimentary wi-fi connection and useful pc in the hall. Definitely a place to stay in Cape Town!

We stayed 3 nights at The Walden House in early April and very much enjoyed it. The hotel is elegant and sophisticated but not stuffy. Much of it is painted white, lending a traditional, well-kept atmosphere. Breakfasts were excellent: hot dishes as well as more continental-style fare. The hotel managers were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including a loan of some umbrellas for a rainy day. The hotel is well-situated for getting around, but we also enjoyed that it wasn't in the middle of a busy area, but tucked away on a quiet side street. There is a great restaurant down the street named "The Miller's Thumb."
