Lovely seaside "village" in stunning setting. Plnty to restaurants whether just for a quick coffee or a full dinner. Working fishing harbour. Visit a huge colony of Cape fur Seals on nearby seal Island; travel over Chapman's Peak to scenic Noordhoek or drive through the Constantia winelands & do some wine tasting......

A working harbour in a perfect bay - large fishing vessels and docks - tours can be booked. A large curio market and several stores and places to eat along the docks. Seals all over the harbour. Snoekies famous for fish and chips. Ample parking.

Third visit to Cape Town area, second time that we stay in Hout bay.
Definitely I prefer to stay there then in Town.
We rented a House just in front of the ocean, close to the dunes restaurant.
Wonderful is the word to use!

Great experience to take an inflatable out to Duiker Island and get a chance to snorkel with Cape Seals! Water is a frigid 10 degree Celsius, but the wet suits keep you warm. We got to snorkel for 45 minutes and the up close and personal interaction with this colony of 15,000 seals was a phenomenal experience the entire family loved! Very memorable experience!
