“New discovery in Houtbay”

We discovered a new venue packed with traders, music and amazing food stalls. Drive to the back of the harbour (only one road that gets you there) Follow the road past Mariners Wharf and enter this wonderland. We were very impressed.

“Beautiful Bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Another great stop on the way from Cape Town to Cape Point. This spot is really beautiful. There's a place to stop where a lot of crafts people display their wares... and don't miss the guy who has a trained seal that will do some great tricks for you... remember to tip the trainer. Any guide will know this spot.

“Slight disappointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Was expecting a relaxed and easy boat ride to see the seals, but unfortunately the ocean was so rough and the boat so unstable that both me and wife were quite sea sick!! Fortunately the photos taken from our shaky vantage point turned out to be great (don't know we managed it though) and the day wasn't completely wasted. Would not recommend this though....

“Picturesque stop on motor tour around the Peninsula”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

There are quite a few harbour restaurants here plus boat trips are available.
The beach is also popular but the water on this side is colder and it tends to be windier. On a nice day it is very popular. People also like to walk on the beach as well as round the harbour where there are lots of fishing boats. In the village there are often open markets plus the usual restaurants and art galleries etc.
