Nice stroll around the markets, coffee at a nearby coffee shop and then onto a boat to go snorkeling with seals. Pretty magical!! There's also a fat seal just behind the market stalls which this man feeds and gets you to pay him for a photograph with the huuuge seal. He even puts fish in his mouth and feeds him from there.. interesting to say the least.

You could be fooled into thinking you are on the California coast as the beaches, houses and ocean look similar. The mountains though burst the bubble! And the ocean is the Atlantic. But the buzz and the bustle are similar too!

This is a very beautiful part of Cape Town, far from the madding crowd of the Cape Town CBD, the V & A Waterfront and the big shopping malls. The scenic mountain and sea views off Chapmans Peak Drive make it so out of this world. The lovely beaches along the shoreline all the way from the Cape Peninsula, to Kommetjie up through the Hout Bay area including the Llandudno, Chapmans Peak, up to Camps Bay all the way to the V & A Waterfron in Cape Town CBD are sandy and relaxing.

The Hout Bay Harbour is also an interesting place to visit.

There are lots of excellent conventional and boutique hotels, as well as restaurants that give good value for money in this area. I always thought I knew Cape Town until I spent a great deal of time in this part of Cape Town.

Lots of friendly lovely people. We will always make time to visit and stay in this gem of an area. It is ideal to hire a car when visiting this area.

Arriving from a drive around the coast, Hout Bay is a lovely little spot not too distant from downtown Cape Town. The day I visited was pretty windy and overcast but nevertheless it was a pleasant place to visit.

We were passing through on our tour to Cape Point so didn't stay for long. Just popped out to Seal Island and we were gone again. The wharf area is pretty alive with all sorts of activities.
