Very good seafood restaurants. There's amazing views of the harbour and surrounding mountains. The drive there is good to with nice views along the way. Lots to do and see. Boat trips are worth your while!!!

Hout Bay, known as the jumping-off point to see the seals lounging on rocks in the ocean, is also beautiful by itself. It might have been nice to spend an afternoon there.

Sand everywhere, what used to be estate agents offices - now covered with sand (you can see the roof of one office !) There's a very strong smell of fish in the air. B&B's with notice boards "park at own risk" ...

Hout Bay was stunning, we took a boat ride around to where the Seals all chill. There was hundreds of them on the rock and swimming around us.
The scenery was amazing, it didnt feel real! After the boat ride we drove round the bay up onto the top and the view was just breathtaking!

We visited Hout Bay twice from 2 different vantage points. An evening and afternoon encounter.
The first one was our first full evening in SA. We went for dinner at the Harbor House. The food was amazing-fish just off the boats that day-4 daily specials with excellent sauces and fresh veg.

The next time was for a late afternoon lunch at Dunes. We had been to Ambeloui for a champagne tour and took our delish champagne to this outdoor cafe on the dunes. Enjoyed great sunshine, blue skies and a quick walk into the very cold water.
