“souvenirs place.. but if you can bargain..”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

one of those bargain souvenir markets. if you are at the area, just have a look. and have a walk, you can buy your souvenirs from other decent shops, also you can find food that is cooked in front of you, so if you are adventurous, go for a snack. my advise is to go for -what is called window shopping- It is safer....

“mostly tourist souvenirs”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

it's ok for souvenirs, just bargain for price.

It used to be a slave market, the real beating heart of the city's economy, but those times are gone.

Still, huge area to walk around and enjoy on a sunny day. If you are lucky you will find some hidden jem in the flea market stands.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Amazing place with many souvenirs to buy for friends, family or even to treat yourself. I enjoyed exploring the different stalls and talking to the sellers. My friend couldn't keep me away!

I felt safe walking round the market, just keep your eyes open and be careful venturing out in the evening.

“dangerous place , be careful!”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

Very dangerous place if you are with family. do not go outside in the evening even you have a car. I had to pay money to the people in the street to make them away from my family. They are always asking money , and if you do not pay, you got trouble!

“Market worth visiting”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

Greenmarket is nice place to spend some time, talk to sellers and found out that in many 'shops' you can find items especially from East Africa and in those you can use Swahili easily and find out price level which is ome third or fourth from original one. Do not pay too much! There is not nothing new what you cannot find similar places in Africa, but it is nice however to talk and bargain and buy something additional to your home.
To those who has not been in 'real Africa' only in South Africa and in Western Cape, this is nice place to make some African shopping.
