“A Story to Tell”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

The story is told by the people who lived in District Six. It's heart warming and shocking hearing their own personal accounts of how they coped with the circumstances of the time, families pulling together to help each other survive. Very educational.

This is a very important place to visit (to understand the recent history of South Africa). I'll never forget my visit.

“District 6 Museum”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

This was a watershed moment in the history of South Africa; however, most of what is displayed in the museum can be gained from reading literature on the subject.

“Not worth it”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

The District Six Museum where meant to tell the history behind the forced movement of black people from this neighbourhood. But the museum lets you down on this story. It was more a display of photos of everyday life in the 1950's rather than a story of the forced movement.
