I did not read any reviews prior to our trip - and now seeing them I agree with many comments. Satisfaction seems to be highly dependent on the apartment you get. Ours was not nearly as nice as expected given the price. We had a 1 bedroom that needed to be refurbished, or had been cheaply constructed: bedroom and bathrooms were worn, kitchen was fine. Two of the patio chairs were broken, but propped up, ready for you to sit on them and fall down.

Security was absolutely fine - I always felt safe. Parking was easy. The location was good for walking over to the waterfront, but not much else. The waterfront is also super touristy, so recommend looking to stay somewhere else if you want to soak up a more local scene.

Cleaning Service: Yes, this is not hotel service - except was still inadequate. We showed up and the bed had been half changed, and they would take away towels to get cleaned and not replace them - so we spent half the time without either hand towels or a bathmat and one of our pillows never got a pillowcase.

Tip: call for a taxi 45 minutes before you need them to show up (though this may have been bc of the holiday season) and confirm with the front desk (you can call them and ask them to get you a cab) that security is to call you when the taxi arrives. The front desk was a little slow but was helpful, you just had to be persistent to get a response. I think it was bc they were really busy.

Room Tip: You dont want to be near the road as its busy -

Recently stayed here and had a three bedroom apartment on the 6th floor. The apartment had everything you would need including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and was very spacious.
The apartments are very well situated and close( Within easy walking distance ) to all the various activities at the V&A waterfront.
Ideal from families or couples wanting a little freedom from hotel life and still able to cater for yourselves if you so wish and fully serviced.
They have a nice gym and plenty of parking if you have your own vehicle.

Room Tip: Higher floors offer a nice view of the waterfront

I have just returned from a week at the Waterfront Village, and the accommodation exceeded my expectations.
I was in Bannockburn 002, which is a one-bedroom apartment.
The apartment was a very good size, with full working kitchen and a very good size lounge. The bedroom was of average size, and the bathroom was small (but perfectly adequate for 1 person) My apartment had a patio with furniture, overlooking the canal waterways. Along the waterways, there are canal boat tours, and you can also kayak and paddle board, which was great fun to do.
The swimming pools are small, with only a few loungers by each.nit was very peaceful and relaxing, as there were no screaming children running around!

Location of the apartment was brilliant....only a 2 minute walk and you're right on the waterfront.

Security was very good at the Waterfront Village. All staff were friendly and helpful, especially Miriam on the front desk. She was an absolute sweetheart.

I would have no hesitation in staying here again, or recommending to a friend.

These apartments are perfectly situated next to the V and A waterfront. The security is excellent and our apartment was modern, spacious and clean. It made a lovely alternative to staying in a hotel and it was good to be able to spread out and catch up on laundry etc. We were surprised to be charged extra for broadband which seemed penny pinching and it was troublesome to set up, although 1 male member of staff was very helpful in sorting it out.

Our only gripe was with the kitchen utensils eg knives and saucepans. They were really limited and made self catering very difficult.

I would recommend these apartments and they are particularly ideal for families.

I was a bit nervous staying here having read some reviews but was very pleasantly surprised, especially at check in. The staff were very pleasant. We arrived off our flight at 8am and the room was ready at 10am, very much appreciated as we wanted a few hours sleep before starting to explore the city. The apartment was very spacious, well equipped and in a very secure location. Beautiful views from both the master bedroom and kitchen. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

We usually stay in a hotel but a two bed suite costs the earth and we wanted our children with us. We opted for the waterfront apartments and we were really pleased we did. The two bed apartment we had over looked the marina, so the views were fab. The apartment itself was so spacious and had everything you could wish for. We had a double bed and the girls two single beds. Both rooms had ensuites. The balcony was large and well furnished. I am not sure we had the most trendy or modern of all the apartments, looking at some of the pictures but we were happy. Security was top notch and we found them very helpful with booking taxis and making restaurant bookings. The location could not be better, it is a 5 min walk into the V&A and all that this has to offer. Bars, restaurants , shopping, attractions all on your doorstep. The only negatives I can report is the fact that you have to pay for Internet use, that the pools are too small for a complex of this size, even the one by the gym, that you have to pay a small one off fee for and that the cleaning wasn't always top notch. I have to advise I am a clean freak so I could tell the bathroom mirrors were not polished daily and nor did the rugs and under the beds see to get hovered and mopped properly. I did ring and ask them to move and clean under the furniture and this did happen. I think it would also be useful to have a small shop on site, although there are stacks of places in the V&A and a petrol station 5 min walk away so I guess that is me just being really lazy a d not wanting to go further than down the stairs. I would definitely recommend buying breakfast vouchers for the One and Only hotel, we loved eating there.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the marina and level 2 or above.

Reception staff not as enthusiastic as other staff we had experienced whilst in SA. But once inside the apartment we were not disappointed.
The security staff were friendly and helpful and we felt very safe indeed. Maintenance was to a high standard as our shower was not draining properly on arrival - sorted within 2 hours.
Ground floor apartment was well equipped and luxurious overlooking the canal. bit strange watching the canal tours going past all the time but soon got used to it.
Five minute walk to the V & A waterfront - very very busy during the holiday period. Next time we visit might just dine in the apartment.
A great base to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area
