The hotel is in a very central location and is converted from one of the many old Dutch colonial houses in the district. Originally chose this hotel after reading so much good feedback from other Tripadvisor members, and that was certainly good advice. The staff are all very friendly and consequently the hotel has a very relaxed feel. The luxury room was interestingly decorated (as are many others we had a sneak peek into when the doors were open for cleaning: they are all individually designed) Bed was comfortable, and generally the ameneties were of a decent standard. The highlights for me were the lounges with comfy sofas where you could catch up with the newspaper, and the courtyard where you could sit in the shade and take breakfast in the morning, or a drink from the tapas bar next door in the evening. This is a refreshing change from the concrete megahotels that abound in big cities and thoroughly recommend it. Note: the hotel will be closed for about 6 weeks starting in June for refurbishment.
