Hi,

i stayed there, great hotel, excellent staff, smooth check-in, excellent rooms but when it comes to food really no choice for vegetarians. Come on with only a salad on offer people cant survive a hotel stay for couple of days

We absolutely loved this hotel. It had the best location possible - walking distance to all the shopping, restaurants, and atttractions on the waterfront. Even the first stop on the hop on bus was a short walk away. The staff were amazing, so kind and helpful - the front desk, the concierge, the elevator attendant, the restaurant servers. Each morning breakfast was exceptional, a choice of many delicious foods and champagne in the buffet and our choice of a prepared hot meal as well. The rooms were well appointed with many ammenities and even a yummy cookie each day. The hotel opens onto a mall with interesting shops. It was such a pleasure to walk the waterfront and be so close to our hotel. Without a doubt, we will choose this hotel again when we return. It was one of the best hotels we have stayed in around the world.

Loved this hotel in capetown,SA.food was excellent, not to mention that it was healthy!I always consider this in my trips. The table mountain was right beside our hotel window!to die for view really !I can eve appreciate the changing of the clouds everyday!Ahhhh,relaxing.....very friendly and efficient staff ,but most of all the shopping area is just a few steps from the hotel,African memories will forever be etched in my mind and heart..A ONCE IN a lifetime experience!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of table mountain, worth it.

We stayed in the Victoria & Alfred in early December 2012 for four nights. It was absolutely perfect. All the rooms were great (we had three). The views of Table Mountain was gorgeous, imagine waking to that sight! Seeing the sunset over the mountain from the room! The breakfast was always delicious, the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms impeccably clean, the beds super comfortable! You can eat in the dining room or outside next to the wharf. The location is perfect, right next to many restaurants and the huge shopping area. We recommend to everyone without any doubt!

Room Tip: Looking towards the mountain!

Arrived with my wife for a one night stay around 11pm. Check in was efficient and we were told the bar was still open! After a long journey, we were ready for a nightcap!!! Despite being the only people in the bar, the staff were very friendly.

Hotel is in a great location - right by the waterfront. Front desk, bar staff, porters and restaurant staff all very good. Can thoroughly recommend breakfast - even if you're not staying here.

3 nights there. First time in Cape Town.
Great location: easy to find, lively, some decent shopping nearby, safe day and night, the pier, free parking just outside, taxis always availbale, 10' to Church Street.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Large family suite with a nice view on the harbour, very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, including champagne and fresh oysters.
The staff arranged a hired car for the Cape of Good Hope loop and the direver was civilised and knowledgeble.
All in all a good choiche for a first (second, third...) contact with this city

We had four nights here on our first trip to SA. What an excellent find. We had a piazza view room and requested a upgrade to a mountain view, however they wer full so we stayed put. The room was stylish, generous and very comfortable with two arm chairs, big bathroom with separate bath and shower.

Breakfast is fantastic and we were lucky enough to eat outside on the harbourside as the weather was warm. Bucks fizz for breakfast oh yes I'm on holiday! We ate in the restaurant one night and had a great meal. All the staff were warm and helpful, Yakeem at the bar was very knowledgable on local wines and picked out some great examples for us.

Good location on the waterfront, touristy with lots of restaurants, music and loads going on an ideal starting location for our SA holiday. No pool but I went across the road to The Dock House a sister hotel to a spent an hour or so in the secluded gardens on a sun bed, staff appeared with bottled and a cold facecloth as well as fluffy towels.

Would recommend this hotel and would love to stay again, a good mix of style, comfort, service and location.
