“Relaxed & stylish with great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

I *love* this hotel. Everything from the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, great service, excellent breakfast with an accompanying view of Table Mountain over the harbour is very special.

Rooms are spacious, beds are very, very comfortable and it's all on a scale which is human and is executed with a subtly laid back style.

Great location on the Waterfront too. Sure there are more swanky hotels like Cape Grace and more hip B&B's and more traditional places like the Mount Nelson but none for me hits the spot like the V&A. Keep it up!

Room Tip: Table Mountain view rooms are worth the extra

This hotel was only a stopover for one night in Cape Town on our way to Hermanus. We specifically asked for a hotel at the V&A so that we could shop before our transfer just after lunch and we needed a triple room. We arrived late, just before midnight, and after a fairly slow check in we went to our room just one floor above the reception area. It was quite large and comfortable and looked out onto the parking lot and the rest of the V&A shopping area. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We took our complimentary breakfast on the patio overlooking the marina area. The quality of the food and amount of choices was very good. I would stay here again if you want the V&A location without the costs of the One & Only or Cape Grace.

Our introduction to South Africa could not have been better. The V&A has an outstanding location with many good restaurants, shopping and attractions within very secure walking distance. Our room was only one floor above reception with a picture window view of the harbor and Table Mountain. Complimentary breakfast was a sumptious buffet including raw oysters on the half shell and champagne. We also dined in the hotel's restaurant Oyo two nights and found the food reasonably priced and quite good. Service both at reception and in restaurant was very good. Concierge was helpful booking restaurants in the waterfront area for us. We hope to return!

Room Tip: Rooms on harbor side have great views of Table Mountain and the water

Very conveniently located, beautiful views and onsite secure parking available.

The rooms were very comfortable with all expected facilities and amenities and we had no issue with the standard of housekeeping.

Friendly and well trained staff and a superb breakfast selection.

Many other dining options and shopping within walking distance.

I would be happy to recommend this property.

I had a pleasure to spend three nights during my stay in Cape Town in this wonderful hotel. The hotel rooms (we had one of the loft rooms) are spacious, clean with super comfortable beds and bathrooms. I loved the fact that the shower was separate from the bathtub and that there was a little sitting down place in the shower. The breakfast buffet was diverse and could satisfy anyone, I believe. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! When we arrived we had to wait for our room, but we asked for and received a temporary room to freshen up after a long journey. Additionally, we had some unexpected, last-minute schedule changes and the staff helped us to fill in our days with wonderful excursions when the weather changed and made it impossible to go with our previous plans. The location is very touristic - it's quite a walk from a city centre, but there are still many things to enjoy in the Waterfront area (and nice restaurants to go to) Definitely recommended!

Room Tip: We had a loft room and it was amazing - great view on Table Mountain and the Waterfront.

My wife and I stayed at the V&A Hotel for three nights at the end of September 2012. The hotel was very cozy and is in a prime location. The hotel was converted from an old warehouse. It is comfortable and has a lot of charm. The staff was very curious and attentive. The best part about the hotel is its location. There are many places to eat, drink and shop in the area. I would highly recommend the V&A Hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Cape Town.

My Husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in September 2012.

We could not have chosen a better location for our stay. The V and A Hotel is directly on the waterfront, with wonderful views of Table Mountain and the Harbour.

Our room and washroom were spacious and modern and Housekeeping always did a great job in keeping it very clean for us. It was important for us to have a comfortable room for our week long stay with decent amenities and our room never disappointed us! We were very happy with the size of the room and washroom and having some space to move around and have our suitcases open, etc. without feeling like you were bumping into each other. The washroom in our room had a separate small room for the toilet with a door and then the bathtub, separate shower and vanity were in a different room – perfect!

This hotel is a smaller property compared to some hotels. It was very cozy and this was part of the charm. You did not have to wander forever to get to your room or to the Dining Room.

The Service at this hotel was great - The Staff became familiar with you from the always helpful Front Desk Staff, to the great Staff on the Travel Desk who are there to assist you in getting your Tours booked, to the Security on site and of course, the Dining Room staff who work so hard on busy mornings with guests who want their breakfast before heading out Touring. There was always a smile for us and a “have a nice day”!

Breakfast was included in our rate and you could eat from the Continental area and/or order hot food from the menu. There was a lot of choice and we were very pleased with the Breakfast every day – not to mention the lovely dining room with a great view of Table Mountain!

We unfortunately did not eat in the Dining Room at Dinner, however, the menu looked good!

Within just minutes walking, there are many restaurant choices (from MacDonald’s to Fine Dining and in between) and lots of shopping right there on the Waterfront, including a very nice Mall where I think you could find anything you needed – restaurants, coffee cafes, clothes shopping, souvenir shopping, two grocery stores, cinemas, etc. Etc.

We had a wonderful stay at the V and A Hotel – loved our room, the service was great and location ideal! It was perfect and we would stay here again without hesitation!

Thank you to all of the Staff!
