“Very Helpful staff. Central location.”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

I stayed here for 1 night on a Business trip.
The Hotel is located in central Cape Town. A good 30 min walk to the Waterfront.
The Room was spacious and had a room safe, kettle with tea and coffee provided.
Minimal bathroom amenities. Small TV with English films.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the duvet very fluffy!
24 hour room service and the food was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and plenty of choice.
I enjoyed the Jungle oats!
The staff were very friendly and were very helpful with any problems.
Would stay here again.
If you want a Hair cut then I would recommend "Hair by Michelle" in Loop Street. A short 10 min walk from the Hotel. Closed on Mondays.

Room Tip: You can either have a room with a mountain view, but you get alot of wind noise as Cape Town is very...

Does not look too enticing from outside but once through the doors it is a different matter. Not an ultramodern hotel but rather a well maintained hotel with a more genteel feel. The rooms were nicely sized, comfortable bed and kept spotless by the staff. The rooms were well soundproofed so you had no extraneous noise from other rooms. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well above average. As others have noted, the breakfast really sets you up for the day.
The hotel is quite well placed in a slightly quieter part of town next to the parliament buildings but only a 10 minute stroll into the very town centre. It is also a 10 minute walk to the Cape Malay area for some of the best food in the country.
Car parking was straightforward in a multi-story car park next door to the hotel with access from level ‘M’ to the 7th floor of the hotel. Daily costs were very reasonable.
I have read some adverse comments about the staff but in my experience they were all excellent. Always a smile a few friendly words and always very helpful with advise where to visit and give directions etc.
My only gripe was that there were only two elevators and boy were they slow. Modern and good size they were, but waiting for lifts took forever. The hotel was not heavily booked so I would think it could be a bit of a problem in the holiday season.
As a base to visit Cape Town, I cannot recommend the hotel and staff highly enough.

The Townhouse is a long established hotel that can be best described as a business/conference style hotel with accomodation that matches this class. It is very central and the service is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic, a big buffet selection. There is a parking garage linked to the hotel, rooms are decorated in a modern style, but there is no gym, so if that's important to you, then you'll need to walk 10mins to the closest gym. We loved staying here. Ask for a mountain view if possible.

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and its was great. Breakfast was lovely. Fresh fruits and pastries and their eggs benedict is AMAZING!!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are small yet comfortable (the best beds i have ever slept on), perfect for a few nights stay. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a small but beautiful view of the top of the mountain.
The hotel is situated in the perfect spot, being in easy walking distance from a lot of attractions, shops and even the V & A waterfront.
I managed to walk down to green point and found the walk rather relaxing.
The only down side to this hotel, that I can think of, is the parking. Feels like a never ending spiral up / down about 7 parking floors.
Other than that, it's great!

The Townhouse is ideally placed in the city centre and has well set out rooms and a nice intimate restaurant area. The conference area is nice and spacious and it is easy to see why it is in constant use by both small as well as medium sized conferences. The food served is tasty and the staff are both friendly and helpful. All in all a well run hotel which definately appeals to businessmen and corporates

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the mountain for a wondeful wake up in the morning

The Breakfast spread is fresh and tasty. That is the best thing we could remember from this place.

The bathroom design was not the most thoughtful. Water always leaked through the doors.

It did not wow us with its amenities, neither did it provide anything bad. Overall an average hotel for the price.

The key attraction in the suite we stayed was the Tub in the room.

The staff were friendly, but were not so knowledgeable on the tourist areas out of Cape Town.

Room Tip: Choose some of the rooms facing the road side. Also the Junior Suites are better than the rest i thi...

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and our overall impression was very good. All the staff were so professional even let us borrow and unmberella after we had checked out, so that we could go and buy and umberella!

We booked a junior suite, these are all located on floor 2. In my opinion well worth the extra. Large spacious light rooms with the bath in the bedroom. Floor to ceiling windows leading out to our balcony/patio (that we had specially requested). The balcony arrangement was very private, with a fairly high wall in front but done tastefully with decorative stones and a large plant. Pleasant enough space to have a drink outside. We could just see the top of Table Mountain enough for us to see that the table cloth had gone and we could visit that morning!

We ate in the restaurant and the food was good. Prices compared to those at the Waterfront.

The hotel is in a central position and good for walking about Cape Town but not so good if you have a car. We found the one way system tiresome and parking is on the 13th Floor of the attached car park.

All in all a very pleasant stay in this well run hotel.
