Christoph and Urs are the consummate hosts, the rooms were stunning and spotless, the garden is gorgeous, the location is quiet but central - we walked to Long Street (15-20 min) most nights and everything else was R40 ($4) cab ride away. Breakfast was simple but delicious. For anything we wanted/needed, Urs and Christoph made excellent recommendations. Can't imagine my first trip to Cape Town would have been so fabulous without them! I'll be returning to the Trevoyan as soon as I can.

My 4th visit to Cape Town and it turned out to be the best by far. I felt very lucky to have found Trevoyan Guest House. This originally Victorian Villa with its stylish, african and noble touch offers best value for money and I felt as a single traveller most welcome and assisted by the owners and managers Christoph and Urs. The central but most quiet location of this property is just priceless and the its large garden with pool and sundeck with views is an oasis in the center of a world class city. I will herewith strongly recommend this guesthouse to all who will be visiting Cape Town in the future. You get optimum value for money at Trevoyan and it will be your best experience ever staying in Cape Town as well.

The guesthouse has a nice garden with view of Table Mountain. It appears nice.

We stayed for three nights in November 2009 in spacious room 7. We had to close the curtains while in the room as it is a garden/pool facing room. This gave our room a slightly gloomy feeling.

On two different nights we found a cockroach in our bathroom and room , that changed our feelings about our room. When we mentioned this to Urs on our first morning he told us that this is normal in Cape Town and that there are even many rats around (we did not quite understand the need for this additional information). When we got back to our room after breakfast we had a bottle of spray on the mantelpiece to our convenience. Urs also offered to ring pest control. This is not how I want to spend some relaxing days!

We did not feel welcome at the guesthouse and were in an awkward situation. Christoff was friendly though.

One cockroach might be an accident, two is no accident. For every cockroach seen when the lights are on, there are more in hiding. A pest free room is at the top of our list when travelling. The owners told us the hotel had pest control service, and it probably did, but someone must not have been doing their job.

We found ourselves happily leaving this guesthouse after three nights.

Well traveled people know that certain animals like certain climates. We have a professional treating our property on a regular basis. An open window is just enough to allow these night active creatures to walk in. How to avoid them: stay home where it is the best and of course as clean as no where else. Another plus: no one may try to take a glimpse from outside into the room and there will be no need to close the curtains and to stop the nice view into the lush garden. Urs

Have just returned from 12 spectacular days in Cape Town & The Garden Route. The Trevoyon was where we stayed for 5 days in Cape Town & we can highly recommend to other travellers. The garden rooms are spacious, very clean & extremely well looked after as is the whole place. Huse one of the partners was very helpful & friendly organising our car hire & even recommended & booked further places to stay on the Garden Route in Swellamdam & the most beautiful Milkwood Manor in Plettenberg Bay which was outstanding. Milkwood Manor was on the edge of the sea (ask for a balcony room, we stayed in no. 13, which was stunning with the most beautiful view) Am sure no traveller could be dissappointed in any of these.

We're an Italian family with an 8 years old children and we spent 3 night in the garden suite on August 2009. It was really very nice, with a charming garden. We got from the owner a lot of very good suggestions about what and when organise our Cape Town visit.
We strongly recommend !
